Did a search. Nothing like my problem on the first two pages.

Today, while actively hoping for a game and scrolling up/down among friends list in game client, all of a sudden, those on line were not at the top of the list. The list was in alpha-numeric order.

    I probably clicked something I shouldn't have.

Anyway, in case others get this problem, a simple cache clear took care of it.

Easier than that, Jim-the bars at the top of the list are sort functions. Click them to sort by online status, average or alphabetically.  Learnt ya sumtin new today, ya did.  ;-)

    Hi Jim

You don't even need to do that.

If you click on the small line far left it sorts your list according to status (green/red), the middle line alphabetically and the line on the right according to their average.

I discovered it a while back, accidentally too.

    Cheers!

I remember reading a post in the forum a year or two back where someone talked abut the order that friends were listed, specifically the ones on red status. It's mostly alphabetical, but quite often some of the names at the top are out of alphabetical sequence, which the guy posting thought indicated that these were players that were online and 'busy' but not actually playing.

Has this ever been verified/confirmed, or was he just speculating? And if it's not confirmed does anyone know how WGT decides on the order that 'busy' names appear in the friends list?

    pdb1:
I believe that the online list is always alphabetical .

Actually it is alpha/numeric. Numbers first.

    pdb1:
The busy list appears to be random

Again alpha/numeric. With Blues before greens before reds. The order changes as a player finishes a game or logs in/out.

Also clicking each of the three bars changes from ascending/descending the sort of that particular column.

This is what I was getting at. As I look at my friends list right now I have one player green at the top of the list, as I would expect, and then two players red/busy. But the first listed player's name begins with the letter 'A' and the second on the list begins with a numeral, meaning that the list of busy players is not currently alpha/numeric.

Can I therefore assume that the player whose name begins with 'A' is not currently involved in a game? It may all seems like a minor point I'm trying to clarify but it could make a difference if I need to send a PM to a player, for example. If I knew by looking at the list order that they were not currently playing even if their status is 'busy' then I also know there's a chance they might see my PM.
