what's with these obnoxious responses all the time? just answer the question posted in the thread or leave it alone...

    to the point:

    the short par4's are an obvious choice: st. andrews 1, 9, 18; chambers 12; congressional 8; pebble 4; merion 7, 8, 10, 11; olympic 7; kiawah 1, 3

then maybe throw in some of the par 5's that are easy to eagle: pebble 2, 6, 18; chambers 4; kiawah 2

par 3's are never that easy to birdie, and kind of boring anyway because it's the exact same shot over and over, but the easiest are imo: pebble 7; bandon 18; olympic 15

    What do you guys think?

Strangely what Robert has pointed out is important, if you want to help your members drop averages then custom courses don't help.

You will probably be best sticking with St Andrews and red tees.  It wont help them become better at the game though.

I'd add 10 and 12 at St A's especially off short tees and maybe more KI par 5's assuming the same.

Royal St George, par 5,hole 7 , is good for eagles, a little tail wind helps.

As for par 5's don't over look Congressional #6. Especially from the shorter tees. Sure there is a risk going for the green in 2 but the reward is worth taking the risk. 2 or my 6 Double Eagles have been made on that hole.

Holes 10 and 12 have already been pointed out but I'd also suggest forgetting hole #1.  Sure, the front tee is an easy birdie but you can't drive the green which makes eagle tough to find.

I'd leave out #1 also. A lot of balls end up in the Swilcan Burn!

Like a blind squirrel that finds an acorn every now and again, I do have the ability to note something important every once in a while. ;-)

It's analogous to the so-called "law of big numbers." Throw enough stuff out there, some of it is bound to be decent.

If you want to assist in your members' averages then create the following 2 CC tourneys...

Easy Tee, Easy Hole Location, Low Wind, B9 at Kiawah

Easy Tee, Easy Hole Location, Low Wind, F9 at St. Andrews

I can shoot 27 all day long on either setup...and I use the free rocks for balls.  Folks who buy balls and have skills should be shooting 23-25 on those setups.
