sueomeara: trying to recruit is getting harder by the day
You got that right!! Created my CC a while back and worked hard to get some decent members - people that are active AND sociable - only to see that most just want to do their own thing playing by themselves and hardly ever taking part in club activities.
But looks like it's the case everywhere. I was in "The Peoples Club" for almost 2 years and even though it's a good club (not quite suited for me though), most are strangers. And just today, i left Greenlanders after seeing how dead the club forum was and reading the list of rules. Some people take this game site way too seriously me think!!
But what's not helping in recruiting folks is that there are way too many clubs out there. Many are filled with non-active members who haven't played in months and the few that are active don't seem to be bothered by that.
Anyhow, i'm willing to give your club a try as long as i don't have to play in those dam club clashes. These take away the social aspect of this game and our credits and don't really give much in return. The only real reward is the course builders - if they are used wisely. I also don't like the idea of having to chase XP points. I will never understand why a high level club have rules regarding these XP points when they give nothing worth having. Just like these people who are past level 103 and still chase those points and worry about their consecutive days played so they can maximize their XP's. Nonlogical IMO. Once someone is past level 103, these XP's are worthless. But to each his own i guess! That said, off course i click "use pass" when i have one to use so that the club may benefit from that but i will never buy 1.
So if i can simply enjoy this game for what it is in a friendly environment, feel free to send me an invite. I'm not 1 to play everyday as i'm still working full time but i will be active and involved - in my own way.
