Hi guys, just a little puzzled. Since I started playing few months ago, I've tested  different balls from cheap ones to top Nike ones with my irons. With full back spin ( 3.5 ball spin) I only needed to add 5 yards, now I need to add 10 yards on 3i-7i, and 5 yards on 8i-PW, to get close to the flag. I've wasted so many balls repeating the testing process, because I could not believe that it would change the yardage just like that. Now I got these balls, same results. What changed, or what am I missing? thanks

P.S. The test was done with headwind, tailwind doesn't requires the same added yardage.

When you started and was testing the balls as a hack amateur pro and even Tour pro you had mostly low winds. Now as a TM you probably get more moderate and heavy winds so you will need to make changes in how much yo add to your shot,

Now about using full back spin.  Due to how the deviation works here it is advisable to use less than full back spin. The more spin used the greater the deviation on mishits. I have mine clubs mapped at around 50 to 60 % backspin. I only use full backspin on a few holes that roll out a lot like # 2 @ St. Andrews

Get one ball and stick with it . Learn it inside out and play with nothing else . Also remember everytime you upgrade your clubs you will have to rechart them . You have 1 more tee move coming up and thats at Legend tier after that no more tees just faster greens . Backspin will suck the life out of a shot if you arent careful , it can make a good shot bad real quick .

Yes get one ball and just keep playing, But stay away from the Nike balls they have lost there use. Volvic Balls are good for the credits level 51. Wgt is messing with the Nike balls, distance is wrong ,don't hold there line at all on putting.

Yep as said best to stick with one ball.

Treat ball changes as carefully as iron or putter changes.  Once you have a preferred iron / ball combo chart it in low cross winds.  Once that is done play Beth B9 in low winds until you know you shoot the lights out of it.  Once all that is known you will soon learn all the courses and which holes play simply differently.  Wind is fairly predictable fairly easily with all the previous in mind.

Thanks guys for the tips and advice. I will wait till I get to L90 and just get the Nike ball L90, and work with it. It's probably what I need once I turn legend anyway. I guess back to practice..thanks again

When Legend happens I would be thinking driver and 3W - certainly driver.

.....................Irons probably still easily OK, but not cream.

Your credits and your fun but one look at the L Tier RGs shows what you really need at L to compete. Your irons and Callys doing OK last I looked (been a while since looked so please check that one)

easily If it were me I would consider a new driver, 3W and L90 irons teamed with a L81 ball as Rolls Royce ample upgrades........I am not sure the L90 ball with L85s balls is really going to accomplish much v cost.........

Mapping as described is the real key for now and a good while, IMHO.

Looking at driver at L90, not a big difference than what I have now.  My irons, compare to L90 irons, I think I'll stick with the one I have for now, much slower meter. As far as these Nike balls, I'm having difficulty zeroing on them. It's like practicing again from day one.  Looks like I need to find the weakness in my game, and fix it.

Your not doing any backspin math for distance. Typically full backspin will reduce your distance by 5% and your percentage will reduce as you decrease BS (carry distance) so a 100 yard shot with full BS will only carry 95 yards (100 times 95%). A shot that typically carries 200 yards will only carry 190 (200 times 95%). So your ball and clubs ARE acting correctly.

I have a chart for wind calculation. Been doing good with it, even won my first bracket tournament. I got free July 4th ball, and I do much better with it, than the 700 credits Nike ball. I will try the Callaway 300 credits next time.
