Hey WGT way to keep it real. You know I watch the US Open every year and watch the field shoot sub 60's all the time. Leader 17 under for 18 holes....REALLY!!!!!

Been on here for almost 2 years now. Not saying u guys are cheating just saying guys on here like me that have a life dont have time to play enough to shoot a "55". All these full time WGT players should have there own Tourny and let the rest of us have a chance as well...

They might not be shooting those scores there but look at it this way. The US Open is going to be broadcast live, just like last year and the Masters. With the release of Congressional just think what it will be like watching this year. You can follow a group hole by hole with the game and the broadcast. It is really a fabulous way to be there.

Plus, watch what happens to those 55s in the final rounds. That's when you'll see real and you won't see anything under 60 for sure. In fact, I'll bet 63 would be right in the mix for first place.  :-)

    wgtnationwidetour.com

I managed a 60 despite having a life. That's if you consider a full time job, 14 yr old son that races motocross, taking him to practice at least twice a week, maintaining the bikes, twin 11 yr old daughters that play basketball tournaments every other weekend or so, taking them to practice once, sometimes twice a week, yardwork, sleep (overrated), and occasionally spending time with my wife, who also works full time a life.

I might not even make the cut at 60. I'm sure I won't even place top 100 if I do. But who gives a $%@!. It's a freaking computer golf tournament that no one outside the members of WGT give any credit too. And probably only about 1/2 of them.

It only took me a three hour slog to post my round. Don't think that hindered my life in any way...

I seriously hope that statement was sarcastic.

The US Open ~IS~ the hardest tourney the pro's will play every year.

The last time Congressional hosted the US Open ('97), Ernie Els won with a -4.  The time before that, Ken Venturi ('64) won with -2.

For the last 20 years, (excluding Tiger's -12 at Pebble Beach in 2000), the AVERAGE winning score has been -2.65.  Even if you look at Tiger's 2000 win at -12, the players who T-2 (Els and Cabrera) finished at +3.

Again, I hope your paragraph above was facetious.

I think I was laying on the sarcasm pretty hard.. Again its the US Open the HARDEST tourny on tour. Even a 59 is a rare occurence on tour, let alone a 55 on an open course

Yea but we don't have to worry about swirling winds, ball in a divot,up hill lie, down hill lie, side hill lies, spike marks on the green, hand positions, and many more possibilities. Like Snaike said it's a computer game much easier than real golf.

Let me insert the typical "Just because someone else can, doesn't mean they're cheating." comment right here.

    Look above for my comment.

Stop reading, my comment is above.

    Hi All,

As "Yankee" said - wait till the course is set up for the final championship round.

Its relatively easy for the qualifying, but come the championship round, after WGT have tweeked the conditions eg Very High Winds (wrong direction and NO time to practice) and "Tournament" greens - then we'll really see the scores rise.

Also the final round is a "ONE OF" round - that changes the situ big time. You wont be able to throw the bad round away and start again, thats for sure.

So - on the day, I think its really wide open. One round - One chance !! As Yankee said, something in the mid to low 60's will be in with a big chance.

    Good luck to all.

    Cheers

    Doug

Exactly, a lot of people who do well in UNLIMITED play tournaments, wont do half as well on the actual single play round thats for sure.

Whats going to happen on #2 when you land short in the 50/60% sand, you try and get back on the green, but only land on top of bunker, or on #4 when there's strong wind, and you hit the tree across the fairway?  You're going to be on +something before you get going, and without the safety net of a RE-START for you!!

If i score a 63 in the actual tournament, i'll be very happy. But i can see me getting something like a 65, no where near my qualifying score of 58.
