I seem to remember either Tibbets or AvLee shooting 52 at beth, back in the day of very little equipment or balls. I shot a 27 at Kiawah back nine with green everything and starter balls. Current complaints regarding clubs & balls always make me smile.

HUMAN is the KEY WORD, quit bitching about it and let it go. We all know that no one has that kind of muscle memory, brain retention, or anything else that Yancy could find. Just let it be and play the game. As far as the mention of their CC. Let that go also, you will never be in it, and it doesn't matter. Good Lord enough all ready. If they have paid their dues, let them reap the benefit. They will have to answer on the next Rapture, as well as myself. Damn I just got spiritual and what not.

I concur Priestess and would never doubt you. This answers the question, it is half humanly possible. So there, to the doubters. Now don't ask again.

Good luck to the guys and girls shooting low scores on here day after day and week after week, and in the open tournys too, thats the way that they want to play this game,as for me i was  made up when i shot a sub 30 round for 9 holes,gt a 61 at bethpage,gt my 1st double eagle,or as we brits call it an albatross, and will b if and when i shoot my 1st sub 60 round. I am on here for fun and rexalation, and dont take this game to serious, but for those players on here that do and keep scoring these great scores, they should not be questioned about them all the time, play this game as you want to play it , and let them do the same, thats what i think anyhow.

Again, I concur. if you have 23 hours a day to play and your man enough or woman enough to stick it out and can memorize 75,000 pages of notes on every grain of grass, then by golly you deserve every 55 or 56 you shoot. People leave these players alone and quit yelling foul. These comments about the low scores are getting redundant.

And so are the players defending them. Are they paying you off or something?

I guess you all believe in the parting of the Red Sea too......

    MrOgre:
There is actually a 50 posted in one recent tournament. 22 under par. 50 perfect shots. 14 birdies, 4 eagles (assuming eagles on par 5's, even the un-reachable ones),

    MrOgre:
that is not happening from the Legend tees.

You're absolutely right.  That isn't happening from the legend tees.

Yardage for that tourney is 6,489, compared to the usual legend yardage (champion tees) of 7,583.  That works out to an average of 60 yards a hole shorter!

Definitely NOT from the legend tees.

To be honest, 50 isn't all that unreasonable when you look at the rest of the leaderboard (an outstanding round without doubt, and enviable as hell, but not that unreasonable). 2nd place is a 51.  Then 8 players tied for 3rd with 53, and 7 more tied for 11th with 54.

I shot a 57 in that tourney yesterday, with 2 pars (very makeable birdies), and a triple-bogey on 17 (dumbass!!), and I certainly don't consider myself to be in quite the same league as those at the top of the leaderboard.

I did have some assistance though (if you can call it that?), in the form of my non-prescription, organic glaucoma medication.

But, that's neither here nor there. Well, actually it's here, and by here I mean where I am and not where you are.  Because then it would be there (and I would be sad). Or at least there from my perspective, anyway. Which, of course, is here to you.  And that's a very good thing. My medication being here and not there I mean.

Practice, MrOgre....lots and lots and lots of practice...and then a whole crapload more practice. And a goodly amount of skill won't hurtcha none neither....

As for me?  I KNOW it's humanly possible to shoot 50 in that particular tourney.  It just ain't easy.....
