It is possible I finally shot a -11 61 on St andies and missed 5 birdies by total of 8 inches. And 2 eagles that turned into birdies.
Exactly. I assume most of those missed birdie and eagle chances were putts? Nice round anyway though.
To all the babies out there, this is where the game is really won. Almost anyone with decent gear can hit the greens in regulation, the players with very low scores are the ones who make 99% of their putts. Take St. Andrews, hit all G.I.R. and make 17 of those putts and you're 17 under, a 55 round. This doesn't allow for an eagle on either par 5 either, so a 54 is well in range for someone who can putt great.
And that's something no swing aid is going to help you with. Sure, a ding every shot will improve your score but you have to be able to read greens to shoot really good scores.
The top players here can. So they do. And some who can't cry about it.
