I rented this the other day and was sinking birdies like crazy and my second eagle. Looked around for talk about it on the forum and there is nothing which makes me a little leery to buy. Right now the credits aren't an issue. I seem to be doing pretty well with the system I have been using taking advantage of free credit offers across 4 different platforms. The reason I say this is because I see a lot of people advising to just save till you get higher but I feel a mid lvl putter would last me till I got there.

    Hi Boog

If you compare the `Tank`  putter you rented against the spider you have now, you will see that the `Tank` putter has double the precision and nearly double the balance. Meter speed the same at 5.0 so yes it is a good upgrade on what you have.

However, there is no magic wand alas. It is what suits one and not the other...a `feel` thing with putters. I have rented many putters and bought many putters on my journey and some of them were supposedly the bee knees of the putting world. I just could not get used to a couple of the better putters.....but I have found one now hopefully.

Anyhow, that lvl 47 Tank is a decent putter at that level from what I read. You say you putted well with it. Highlight that putter again in the pro-shop, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you will see some players opinion on it. Then make your choice!

Kind regards and good luck on your progress.

Appreciate the response. I understand that there is not one fits all, it's about personal preference and style of play. I tend to hit dings more than half the time but bouncing back and forth between platforms throws me off for a little before I get in that zone.

I guess your response answers my question that if it felt good and I was doing well with it give it a try. I have not tried any of the more reputable putters yet like the rossa. I don't even have any Nike options for any clubs( there are balls), don't know if that is a mobile thing?

In your opinion do you think I should try out some others before making the purchase. Even though I said credits are not an issue paying 200 for a short rental is pretty steep. 2 hours doesn't seem like enough to get a real feel.

    Appreciate the help.

Sounds like you are rocking it with that putter. Stick with what works for you I say. After all I have bought and tried with putters I'm back to the one I think is best and believe it or not its the wgt cheap putter. I have become somewhat suspicious over putters as I found that putting actually got harder when I got the newest putter. That, and surprisingly seeing how many Master and above levels are using the wgt putter then the others. My advice is to save your money for a good set of irons, the M1 driver is a must, and the best wedges you can get (those things are the real birdy suppliers). Cheers!

That Odyssey putter is a nice one imo, i think it will serve you well through MANY levels. In my mind the next step after the Tank L47 would be the L70 Versa putter, i like it so much it might very well be my last one.

As for the WGT beginners-putter, tested it again a while back and missed everything :) Good luck :)

Appreciate it. I went ahead and got it. Didn't do good at all on my first round out like I did during rental but it was St Andrews on my rental round which has a lot of easy putts imo. I look forward to getting her to work for me.

As far as irons I was going to hold off till 59 for the ping G25's for right now.

Try-out time is over - you bought it. Comparing to my seasoned Rossa (L55) on paper, it shows 15% better stats @3x the price :(

Free level-up rental is 2 hours. Regular rental costs 15% of the price (300 cr in this example) and will last for 24 hours. Both can be extended if you start a ranked 18 hole game at the end - rental will continue as long as the game will last.

Good to hear that it's a success! Those 69s are sweet news!

But, these alone wouldn't put you to a 69.00 average.

You upgraded to Tour Pro while your history doesn't show any TP score. Thus your average should be your last Pro average, but, with a 31 on STA and two 69s now as the lowest scores, this is impossible IMHO.

     My theory is:

Your last 69 score is your first TP score, and the average follows 1:1 after it's reset.

This, or you played a secret score (Bracket? RG?), or WGT changed their display logic.
