I don't understand why we cant hit a driver off the fairway.  I play real golf and I can do fairly easily,  Pros on the tour do it all the time.  Its about time WGT gets with the program already.

Im not talking punch shot, I mean an normal shot like you would with a 3 wood.  I am surprised no one has ever brought this issue up considering many of you play in real life.

I have an 8.5 degree TaylorMade Burner 2.0 in real life, and I would love to see anyone try and hit it off of the fairway. ;)

    Same with the R11.

It's not exactly the best idea in the world and most folks can't really do it anyway.

Also FYI, this isn't an "Announcement" or "News" so you should really post this in the appropriate forum, such as one of the sub forums under "Product Discussions"

an 8.5 degree would be difficult yes but anything 9.5 and above it would reasonably easy to do

I have the Cleveland XL 270 luncher 9 deg with custom fitted  flex shaft , no way am I hitting that of the fairway , poor swing hit the ground may not have a club head attached the shaft as a result of it + it will be a mission to get up into the air. 3 wood will out distance the driver of the fairway.

If the pro`s on the tour use this shot , I bet it would not be there 1st choice shot but then again watching them on TV some can do anything & everything with any club.

The pros do hit a driver off the deck from time to time, however with the larger headed drivers coming into being, this shot has become less and less common.  The 3 woods that are carried today can hit it as long as much more easily off the fairway.

just played a round today at my golf club and i tried the driver off the fairway twice. one of them was good and the other bad as i nearly broke my wrist. Im not bad at golf as i play off 4 and i carry the r11 in my bag but watching the pros on telly i rarely see them hitting the driver off the fairway as it could result in injury if they catch it wrong
