Has Play Got Erratic?

  Is it me, or has play got much more erratic over the past couple of days? Driver and iron shots coming up Waaaay short of the target. Cross winds far worse than normal - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Slope on the greens - sometimes no effect. Swing meter speed all over the place. I appreciate that all players go thru good & bad phases, (even IRL) but at the moment, on some rounds its a bloody struggle to even make par. Ah well... back to the practice (O;

  I play 98% on the ipad and my putting has gone down hill ever since the last update (sometime last week). Putts I usually make are lipping out at an alarming rate. I average 4-5 more putts per nine than just a few weeks ago.

Ah well... back to the practice This is happening to EVERYONE I play with...myself included. We're at the mercy of programmers who don't know what the hell they are doing; probably by design to squeeze more money out of us.

  This is the frustrating and aggravating part of the game. A few weeks ago you were a Tour Pro and now you're a Master. While the green speeds are the same for both tiers, the better YOU get, the harder the game gets and that's what you're seeing now.

  FWIW, most lipouts are speed related, usually because you hit it too hard. This happens a lot when players tier up to a different green speed. That didn't happen with you, you're still on 10s. Slow it down. ;-)

  p.s., I, myself, have seen a big increase in my own lipouts if the past few days. Putting has always gone in cycles for me--sometimes you can't miss and other times you wonder if you ever knew how to putt in the first place. LOL I think I'm in one of those "down" cycles ATM. :-(

  BTW, Congrats on your Yankees big win last night Jim!! Still can't believe they did it against the hottest team in the AL!! YJ is spot on with his assessment about the game here as well. The higher up in Tiers you go, the harder the conditions. But as has been also stated, ever since the last "Downtime" a couple of weeks ago, the game has gotten even more unpredictable. Funny you mentioned lip outs because I'm averaging at least 3 or 4 in an 18 hole round lately too!! So until the Yahoo programmer get their heads out of the butts, we will continue to see erratic play I'm afraid. Just me 2 cents worth. Lute
