Hate to sound negative here, but i am going to anyhow. The qualifying set up for this event seems to have pitted us with a lot of Kiawah rounds.....possibly 4 of our 6 qualifying rounds will be there. This course unfortunately is my least favorite of all the options we have and it shows in the scores i am posting. Now obviously we will not be playing this course at all when it counts......just thought it worth mentioning.

    Thanks

Good point Cappiest,,Also the Ryder Cup will be held at Congressional and this is the least similar course,Kiawa is way off from Congressional,,,Good point, Surely we have the facilities to do community run comps at congressional.?,Kiawa high winds is as dry as the Sahara desert,Im playing it now with real player on full and im singing as i play,Its multi tedious,

is really interesting but how they could select a congressional comp in strokeplay games??? If they tell that played a ranked round, dont will be single game.  If someone have an idea , post here or talk with Seve about it, i think that would hear all commentary about this point

2 Players who are picked at Random, from the World side list of Qualifiers( they cannot be friends) Can Tee off for Congressional 18 holes in practice mode,,Of course the only draw back is the greens,,they will be VF only,But im all for this idea,As i said earlier Kiawa shows no resemblance whatsoever to Congressional so surely you would want the best Congressional players out there,,,Also they can even post the time that they are about to Tee off in the forum,so there is no suspicion of restarts,Normal disconnection rules would apply in that the game will resume from that point of disconnection

What about the following possibility: top 18 of the ranking of each team are gonna play full 18 at congressional as stroke play. They will be mixed in 6 flights of 3 people (based on time zones probably), they gotta post when they start their round to proove that its the only one they played and post the scorecard here afterwards. Furthermore i would let them play front 9 and back 9 at different days... might take too much time and effort to play stroke play full 18 with 3 people. Those rounds have a little bit more pressure due to the playing partners and the importance of playing well at that course and should count 3times for the final ranking or sth like that.

This is just a basic idea, if u dont like it or have a better/improved way to do this, go ahead and tell us! open for discussion ;)

Totally agree! Kia plays much different from Congressional-Plus every player trying to qualify for Ryder Team just finished playing Congressional over and over for the last 6 weeks. I posted 3 60's 2 59's and a 58 (with a double-bogey on17). My best at KIa is 63-not that I would be on the US team. Just saying Capp has a valid point.......

I agree entirely with the concerns re Kiawah. The one point I would make is that no qualification process is perfect, the mere fact we are being judged on a strokeplay basis, for a matchplay competition, is flawed to start off with. However you have to have some way of comparing players, at least 6 rounds gives all players a number of opportunities to score well.

I agree that stroke play obviously is not the best way to do this, however we don't really have any other option. My concern is the lack of variety and lack of similarity that Kiawah offers to Congressional. I am probably not the only one that does not play Kiawah all that well. I just found it bizarre how many times it comes in to the 6 qualifying rounds. A little more balance might get quite different qualifying results...

    Thx

Single Play Stroke Play Tournaments is the fairest way to qualify the for the Ryder Cup plain and simple.   There is no way to manipulate scores and or conditions.

Although Kiawah seems to be disliked by many legends, we are all playing the same courses and have the same chance.
