Hello WGT! A friend recommended me to try WGT, so here I am. If you could give a newbie one piece of advice, what would it be?

Take your time to learn all the courses and all the shots. You will be rewarded with years of fun, great competition and wonderful friendships,

    Welcome!

A lot of new players make the mistake that simply upgrading your clubs will yield better results. That's not the case. As K7JBQ says, learn the game and take your time doing it.

Ask questions in the forum & use the search feature to seek out answers provided to those before you.

    Run.......................

Actually the best bit of advice has been stated....learn ALL the shots. Punch is probably the most underutilized shot at lower levels/tiers..... learn it well and you will be a better player.

Do not rush to upgrade......you will just be wasting money would be a close second (unless you have cash to splash).

Finally, and probably most important......have fun.

If you place your marker at the distance you want to hit and choose a club that will hit that far, the meter will tell you on your bkswg the exact distance. The meter has natural cutoffs and your pointer will be like a tab in between those gates.

Putting may seem impossible at first. You'll get there. And ... Dont use EZ-Swing clubs, they're terrible.

the game plays VERY true once you get the hang of it.

    and... have fun!

As a noob in a low tier, mind the green speeds. They vary a lot depending on what you play, so putting looks quite unpredictable.

Use the practice mode where you can have mulligans. Hitting the same shot over and over can help you learn how the ball reacts upon landing as what happens with more or less power. There is also a feature to help you line up putts in practice mode. Just remember that in practice mode, the mulligan feature takes life from purchased balls, but not the free ones.

dont play the clashes....theyre a total ripoff and you can not win...you will just waste your money on balls and passes..
