Using clubs from multiple club sets?

  I realize the maximum # of clubs allowed a player can use at anyone time when playing is 14. Currently I ONLY have starter clubs & ball, but would like to purchase an entire set of 14 new clubs at one time.  My questions are: (1) Am I able to still retain my starter clubs along with my newly purchased set?  (2) Can I play at times using ONLY my starter clubs, play at other times using ONLY my newly purchased clubs, & lastly be able to play at times using a MIXED combination of starter clubs & purchased clubs (naturally following the 14 club rule)? Couldn't find info on this in WGT search box.

  PS I do not currently own a golf bag if this makes any difference?       Thanks

  Yes to all of them. You don't have to have a bag as all those clubs stay in your inventory.

  The starter clubs are yours and you have to equip the new clubs by dragging them up to where the current ones are. In other words, if your adding irons you would drag the new irons up to where the starter irons are, and vice versa.

  You cannot have a mix of starters and new irons. It's either one or the other.

  Woods and wedges are different, you can have a mix on those

  Thanks for reply Don. To clarify if I understand you, are you saying that if I wish to change my starter irons to my newly purchased irons 9 (or vice versa) that I have to do this as a complete set if irons. If so, that's no problem & would be expected. If you're wondering why I want to do all this swapping, it's because I want to "work in" my various new equipment a little at a time to become used to it.     Thanks Slimym

  Just something for you to consider:-   Most players end up dumping their rarely used starter hybrid and replace it with a third wedge which will definitely come in useful around the greens.

  Give it some thought.

  That is correct - for example you can't swap out individual irons - any iron set equipped will be 3-PW, regardless if they are starters or branded. I would love the freedom to say drop my 3 iron and use a 2 iron (something I do in real golf - or drop my 3W for the 2i) depending on the course.

  However you can play with starters irons and use purchased woods, drivers or other wedges, or elect to use all starters equipment.

  It is fun and challenging to use starters equipment, especially from the tips and they are always there. Likewise with any purchased clubs, they are available unless you sell them.

  As pointed out in the  above post, three wedges is usually more beneficial to having a hybrid in your bag and is the preference for most players.

  Edit: As an aside, you effectively have 27 clubs in your bag.........all except the putter can be used for punching the ball - really important to learn the value of this shot.

  If you do decide to drop the hybrid, as most of us have, you need to make sure that your iron set has a 3i to fill the gap that has opened, otherwise you have to shorten up with the 3w. The other thing that you must do is learn to use the punch shot from the rough, if you have not already. 

  The other thing worth noting is  the spacing of the distances of your wedges and pitching wedge. The punch shot with each of these also gives you more options at full swings. You have probably noticed that as you drop power on a swing that the distance drops at a higher percentage than the power given. Punch shots at full power thus work better than full shots at less than 80% power.

  You are using a "bag" to transport the clubs in use to the courses. Look into your inventory, it says "IN MY BAG" in the upper half!

  You don't need to purchase a "Stand Bag" - this item of 400 cr would only do what is advertised, "sit on the tee", without any function, and  - IMHO - ugly!
