    JaLaBar:

Just looking at the Championship rounds...

    Round1: July 18th- July 21st

    Round 2: July 21st- July 25th

So this means you must have your 1st round complete by 11:59PM on the 20th, right?  And your second round complete by 11:59PM on the 24th?  If you wake up on July 25th and you haven't played your 2nd round yet, you are DQed?

That all depends on where you live....and what time you wake up on the 25th.

Official rules are quoted below.....  (PT stands for Pacific Time)

"...you may enter Round 1 of the Championships by logging in to the website at www.wgt.com or www.opengolf.com between 1:00 am PT July 18, 2011 and 11:59 pm PT July 20, 2011 (“Round 1”), and playing and completing the 18-hole stroke play game between 1:00 am PT July 18, 2011 and 11:59 pm PT July 20, 2011. You may enter Round 2 of the Championships by logging in to the website at www.wgt.com or www.opengolf.com between 1:00 am PT July 21, 2011 and 11:59 pm PT July 24, 2011 (“Round 2”), and playing and completing the 18-hole stroke play game between 1:00 am PT July 21, 2011 and 11:59 pm PT July 24, 2011."

Who knows?  Perhaps when qualifying is over.  Or perhaps it said it was in July, but that only meant you had until the last day of June to complete it.

    Good luck with that judge....

Oh, wouldn't be luck.  Had I chosen to have my friend file, there would be a legal stay against the beginning of the tourney.  My buddy wouldn't have offered to do it if he didn't know it would work.  I chose not to have him do it, though I was tempted.  WGT needs to learn if they post -7/18, which again if anyone had comprehension problems, in grammer stands for 'through 7/18', that they need to follow through and have it last through 7/18.

And I am glad the official rules that most don't bother to read said the time of 11:59 PM on the 17th.  The tee off screen, that everyone who played saw every time they started a round said 7/18.  As it is 7/18, I am standing at the RSG gate waiting to finish the qualifying.

     Wrong, JaLabar!

On the tee off screen, it said  beginning date-7/18.... not THROUGH the 18th,  TO the 18th.

Every tournament is listed the same way.

Again, as mentioned, in grammer, if something that is written as lasting from 6/13-7/18, that means from June 13th through July 18th.  yes, through is what that means, so no, I am not wrong.  You, however, are quite wrong.

So, despite posting that 7/18 is a qualifying day for Open qualifying, WGT ended the qualifying at the end of the 17th, their time.  So, by server time, there was NO qualifying on the 18th, despite their tee off screen for the qualifier saying that qualifying lasted through the 18th.  If this is the way they treat paying customers, I recommend we all stop being paying customers.  I expect to get stepped on if I am not paying for their services.  If I am paying $50-$100 a month, as I had been prior to this miscarriage, I expect to be treated with respect by the business I am investing my money in.  Posting the 18th then closing qualifying on the 17th is not respectful of a paying customers wishes.  I have sent WGT an e-mail, stating that barring the finish of the posted Q times, I will not spend another cent here, and I will loudly and vocally recommend no one else does either.

Perhaps, in this depressed economy, my money doesn't matter to them.  Perhaps they don't need my $50-$100 as month, or anyone elses.  They won't get any of mine,. and other than those of you who already qualified and don't seem to care about the rest of us getting jobbed, I hope everyone else follows the same tact and think several times before investing money in a business that treats paying customers in this way.

In my business, we close at 11.  However, if an employee accidentally took a reservation for 11:30, we would stay open and honor it, and not let our employees mistake cost the paying customer.  One of WGT's employees posted that the qualifying lasts THROUGH the 18th.  They should honor it.  That is the way respectable, reputable companies do business.

So, if your business opened at 4 o'clock, for instance....you would write the hours as 4 - 11?  Meaning 4 to 11?  And if someone showed up at 11:30...you would normally be closed, right?

In the same vein, if someone asked me to write down my hours of work, and I wrote 9 - 5, they would read that as 9 to 5, not 9 through 5, right?

Bottom line: you "jobbed" yourself by not reading the fine print.  Pointing the finger of blame at WGT for that one?  Ummmm, yeah okay.

Everything I see posted is stating 7/17 where is 7/18 located? The law is clear- Technically because Wgt is a california company they were only required to keep qualifying open until 5:00pm pst time of the 17th if they promoted that date. However, if they promoted the 18th then the law would state it had to be open til 5:00pm pst time of that date.  The only time that changes is when the promotion clearly indicates in 10pt writing or above the exact time it cuts off and that can be placed in just rules etc. Rules govern any outside promotion seen because it clearly makes you affirm that you have read the rules prior to playing.

So basically if the rules said the 17th Jalabar then I am sorry because as I said they truly only had to keep it open til 5pm. The sad thing is I know you would of got that extra birdie you needed and qualified.
