    I'm trying to get an inter CC league started in my club using a handicap system to make it fair for everyone competing.  I know how handicaps work in real golf, but not sure if that translates to Wgt.  I have messed around with a few formulas, but not sure they are the best option to go with.  I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to pass along the system they use in their club leagues or tournaments, so that I can implement it in mine. I'm hoping there is one best system everyone uses that is both easy and fair. If anyone can help me out that would be greatly appreciated.

    I think your post may gain traction, but in the meantime have a Search >> as I have seen folks talking about their club's handicaps / flights systems in the last 12 months.

    Have a look at the Tourney Manager link on DaddysKat's profile page.

    In the documentation that Kat provides for the Tourney Manager, she mentions videos that she made to help with learning how to use the program, but I don't see any link to those videos. So here is a link to her YouTube channel. CLICK.

    ⇩ EDIT : Thanks Woodie. : ) ⇩

    Scott,

    I downloaded the files from her awhile back and played with it some. I just did not have the time to follow through at that point, though I intend to try this system out starting in January with my club.

    In the files are some powerpoint presentations to instruct you. In these slides there are links to many videos and tutorials that are great not only for the Tourney Manager, but also for general club record keeping.

    although judging by your comments sounds a tad cumbersome, so any other suggestions on systems from others would be appreciated. I'm not to bright lol so the easier the better. Just hoping for something simple and fair for everyone in club

    One thing to remember when setting up CC tourneys using a handicap system is that the lower tiers already have an at vantage due to their default tees are much shorter and their default green speeds are much slower as well. And if you have some high level low tier players who have some of the best equipment they are really going to have a huge advantage.

    So it might be a good idea to set up the tourneys so all players have the same tees and green speeds.Some holes there’s as much as a 100 yard difference between hack tees and legend/champion tees. So the Lower tiers can play mostly driver/wedge while the higher tiers might even have to play driver 3 wood on the same hole.

    The Peoples Club has a Handicap system.   Ours follows the USGA Handicap Manual with just a few modifications.

    First, we use a WGT developed a specific Course Rating. That is done by getting the average of the top 15 scores in 20 (18 hole) Ready Go Tournaments that are open to all levels AND cost 500 or 1000 credits to enter.  For the Slope Rating we use the USGA Course Database numbers for each tee position.

    Second, we altered the USGA handicap manual requirements for developing member's HCI as follows:

    1) We use the best 10 of the last 15 (not 20) rounds;

    2) Those 15 rounds have to be played in the last 120 days (not 1 year);

    3) No more then 3 scores can be from the same "course" where course is defined as front and back 9s as well as the full 18 are different "courses"

    4) The 15 scores must be 15 different CC Tournaments that are not played on a Best of or Bandon Dune courses,

    The difficult part - grabbing the scores and calculating individual member's HCIs - is done by an automated program that takes a few clicks to do all the work.  Our database of member's scores is incredibly  large as have ~50 CC tournaments each month and the data goes back to February of 2014.

    Thanks LightsOut, you're welcome.  ; )

    I haven't used Kat's tourney manager myself, but she is a very intelligent woman, so anything that she did for us was awesome and, to my mind, complicated.
