It has its advantages, if your playing the turf wars, you only get hit with anywhere from 9 to 18 hits on your golf ball life.  If you win all 9, assuming that you would have played 9 holes, you win 162000 coins at the 18000 room.  54000 if you only play 3 times.  Unfortunately, in the wars, you use 8 passes, at 37 credits each.  Playing one hole with a playoff (in a tie) less than 5 minutes.  Money maker for wgt?  8 passes equals 296 credits, one golf ball they make less on ball sales, but more on credit sales.

Agreed, the one hole format is poo! Luck is a much bigger factor now. Anyone can beat a better player on one hole, over 3 or 9 holes the class will usually tell.

The new format is terrible put it back the way it was. You're ruining play for mobile players.

While I never play these games, I just looked at them. On my screen (iPad Pro), they display as 3 hole stroke play games.

I kind of like the new change actually. After 12 hours of playing since the update I see the benefits of it, both for players, and WGT (of course).

It's more about coins now, and I think that in it self is a step towards the possibility to buy gear with coins later on, instead of just credits. That's what I think at least.

The shootout when there is a tie is kind of a fun way to settle too. All in all, I am quite happy with the update, although much of the social part goes away unless playing Shanghai room H2H.

Not much room for socializing on a one hole round lol.

And actually the "luck" factor is something that I don't necessarily mind because it incents someone who may simply be a Pro to play in a higher paying room because the chance to beat a Legend is much greater on a single hole (w/ potential tie-breaker) than it is over 3. I hate losing, but I can see this side of it.

That said, I lament losing the two 3-hole rooms in order to make this available. They could have added two more rooms to allow for anyone who wants to play this way.

Oh and did anyone notice they moved the "Continue" button at the end of the match right after being asked if you want to buy a sleeve of balls for your opponent - and replaced its old spot with the "Gift" button? How many of us who have been cycling through those two pop-ups for ages are going to accidentally hit the "Gift" button now?

Please, tell me that the reason they moved that was because players were complaining about that too.
