Strange How The meter Always freezes After I Birdie

  Very good question Boomer.  I've talked to others about that very question.  The best I've come up with is since the VEM  determines a change in a user's skill level and then acts to counter it, it is very, very, difficult for the better players to play better and very easy for them to play worse.  They have fought their way thru the counter moves to get to a high level of play. (In a way, they've developed an immunity to the punishing counter moves.)   The data the  adaptive VEM is looking at is now all excellent play.  No big deal(for the VEM) for an outstanding player to start out 9 under par, that's what they do per the history VEM looks at.  Now if they start out eagle, eagle, birdie, eagle, then VEM might raise its eyebrows.  VEM on the other hand would counter a -5 after 9 holes and  give them some breaks on the back 9.

  Right now I'm posting a ton of 5, 6, 7 unders on the qualifiers hoping the VEM takes pity and allows me one round of 58. LOL

  I think the VEM is a random program. I don't believe it punishes good play buy I do think it changes it's randomness all the time. ie. A shot today at CCC, 3 mph cross wind to the right. I usually don't make much of a correction for low cross winds. Aim for the center of the fairway, ding the drive and it ends up in the rough to the left. Much like your water shot on 18. I was not playing well so there was no reason for the VEM to make it harder for me but it did. I think I just got caught in it's randomness. Hope you make a 57/58 in the qualifier. I don't think I'm going to make it. Good Luck and Good VEM...LOL

  Have you noticed that WGT has not responded to this post, cause its all true. So much bull goes on here. Hell I can be -3 on ST. Andrews and end up Plus 3 cause of the stupid ass winds and the stupid ass greens. Come one now How many greens at your Local Courses have No level putting?? Hmmm always up hill down hill left to right, right to left.

  How many times have you saw a 7mph wind push more than a 20 mph wind? the dynamics are way off of this game, I understand its a beta and its free unless you buy clubs which I dont I do free surveys in order to get my clubs and balls, I refuse to spend money on something I am going to Lose, Like I did with the Ex Wife(LOL), that was money well spent..

  I get involved with the game many times when I play a course I see the Hole in the same location but when I hit it the same with the wind and everything when I get to the Green the lye has changed, something totally differant than it was yesterday. I just wish it was a lil bit more relalistic. More courses besides the same one's . Open up Cabo Del Sol stop profiting of it and lets rock on that one.

  Pine Hurst, Bali Hai, Wolf Creek awesome courses, not for CTTH or Blitz. Google earth the courses so you can map them and make them on here.

  Just responding so you know I read it. I don't know why what's happening only effects you. I and 1000's of others played hundreds of rounds there without any different results after a birdie.

  Well I play of an Australian handicap of 2. Same handicapping as USGA scale handicapping system. 98% of greens are not level.

  Should come & play my local course ROSS WATSON designed course , every green like Oakmont 1st hole with more water then pebble beach. 16 out of 18 fairways have water running along side the fairway & green , & they want to add more lakes lol

  Now consider the course`s we are playing on are not some dodgy back yard course hacked out with the rake & spade these are the top courses around the world (level putts are not common on these greens.

  Hit a bad shot do you expect the ball to land in the hole? Normally people who hit a bad shot blame the wind , fairway , green was not right angle , bum was not in the right spot on impact , (you hit a bad shot move on)

  WGT has already started this course was not made by them & haft to add a charge to play the course as they will more then likely get charged for every player who plays this course (any business needs to pass the cost on) + it only cost 150 credits to play big deal

  How about you do that & try & make them up to the same standard as WGT has done with there courses , I would rather play full detail courses then some hack job.

  Andyson, im so grateful you posted that this is happening to you as well. From what i can see, a player of your stature here holds some ground when putting up views on the game. I had exactly the same thing happen to me when playing the qualifier for RSG. I was -10 on the last hole. Between 5-8 mph wind going from left to right. I know that green slopes to the left, but i still moved my marker to the right hand side slightly to ensure i landed on the green.  I dinged the shot only to see the ball go left and land in the rough???????

  It turns out i triple bogeyed the hole because any shot i tried after that just wouldnt do what it says on the tin so to speak. Seriously pi**ed off after that, and it only goes to give credit to the argument that some sort of VEM is connected to some player accounts. The way i see it, everybody can get to legend easily if there was no programme stopping them hitting good shots all the time, and that wouldnt be good for the game. Its just a pity that my account seems to be one of these.
