The Washington Post has an interesting interactive graphic showing how numerous professionals have played each of the holes at Congressional in recent tournaments there:

Pretty good information. Who do you think might win it? I've got to pull for Mickleson although I don't think the course works in his favor with the extremely tight fairways. The other tab on the linked page shows you how they've tightened up the course for the Open.

Great info Zags!  Thanks for the post!

I found it very interesting how often the pros hit 145 to 175 yards out of the fairway bunkers yet the best I can do with the always 30-40 lies at Congressional (or RSG and Oak) is 70 to 100 yds at best.  Appears they don't always get 30-40% lies like we do.

Can WGT sometimes allow a 20-25% lie in the Congressional, RSG and Oakmont bunkers please?

    Good point andy....

a good example is a "hard sand" lie, like those found at Kiawah....

those lies are almost like hitting off fairway, very little yardage loss..

    Piz,

Marked. A sleeve of virtual balls of your choice says it will be a Yank. (You can have the whole UK, including Northern Ireland, which is pretty generous these days golfwise, plus any Channel Islands as a freebie.) A third country is a push. Are you on?

The course has been set up nicely for Rory McIlroy IMHO.

They do. There's places where it's 10-15% on Congressional.
