Right now all my clubs have matching meter speeds except the putter. R11 D and 3w, Ping G10s, 3x Cleveland wedges. They stay that way 99% of the time over the last year or so even as I have experimented with various other clubs.
I have added both the Ping i15s and the TM Burner 2.0s when they came out but I find that my consistency suffers not only from having to adjust to the slightly faster meter speed of the irons, but also the slower swinging clubs left in my bag!
I don't mind the faster meter... I think that the Burners are significantly better than the G10s but after a number of rounds I find that I just can't nail the dings anywhere near as frequently as I can when my whole bag has matching meter speed... and anybody knows that it's critical to nail the ding when you're trying to get a 200+ approach with a long iron tight to the pin. That's maybe a difference of having a 5 foot tapper and a 20 foot double-breaker.
I have 1 experiment left... Go back to the R9 Supertri Driver and Ping i15 3W to go with the Burners, then the meter speed would be consistent from D through PW. But then I'd be giving up distance, precision and forgiveness on those 2 clubs... plus my wedges are still mismatched.
Hate to sound @nal, but I'm wondering if anybody else is struggling with this.
Cheers
