Received NO Credit for Clash round completed at St A's

    To WGT

I just completed a round at St A's. Score was 34, consisting of 3 Pars (15pts), 4 Birdies (48pts), and 2 Bogies (4pts) Total received should be 67pts. I received none!

ALSO, one of my Birdies was the result of a 57ft putt. I should be in the lead for longest Putt, 300pts, but nothing.

How can this be? Can you adjust my stats? Please Help.

Normally SOTW doesn't effect your scoring average, but for whatever reason the Clash SOTW does.  Lower tier members are likely those most impacted...you see so many absurdly low scoring averages by so many people that shoot no where near those averages on a regular basis but they manipulate their average playing easy tee tournaments so they can bring their average back down before or after saturation.

So even if it isn't fixed there are still ways for clubs to offset the effects of it, not that we should have to but everyone seems to find a way around things anyway...

    WGTChampion:

For those of you playing in the first Set of the Week clash and our first clash with some new scoring bonuses, how do you like it?

    Hit me with some feedback!

    _CHAMPION

My honest opinion is that this was a bomb.... I don't mind SOTW clubs and I see the reasoning behind trying to even things up, but this is NOT the way to do it.  It ruined the clash for me as.  The extra bonus points is a good idea and I think they are the only positive out of this clash.  The fact that it awards the points in the clash and then removes them when someone else takes over the spot has caused multiple errors in the point totals.  Mine was up and down and each time it seemed to change my overall score by a different amount????  That should be addressed.... possibly wait until that clash is over and then award the points at the close of the clash.

The other thing about this clash I noticed that on top of being forced to use inferior clubs after working so hard to purchase my own equipment which is a huge slap in the face to trying to better yourself at this game, I seemed to have HUGE winds ALWAYS sideways or in my face.  Hitting into wind with good clubs is hard but using these clubs I noticed that they reacted differently on almost every shot.  Either can the SOTW or at least can the wind.

My overall opinion is that this was a bad (stupid) idea and I will be scaling way back on my clash efforts if I see this again.

The Clash......  as significant and exciting as it is, let's move along to something of more importance......

Such as......      The choice between shoestring, thick cut, crinkle, or waffle?

After fixing the glitches, it wasn't too bad.   My 2 cents, I'd like to see a little higher level clubs, not asking for top levels, but maybe something around the 40 level? This might even entice the lower leveled players to work harder to get them? (Like a free rental period)   Just an idea.

To LS, I'll take the curly qs !

WGT Champion I understand wanting to do something different, especially since there will be no new course added to play this year. But this doesn’t really work for me. Granted I am busy working this clash and a funeral & last day of curling playoffs so never really got to give it much of a go. At least your not dead and trying new things though. We pay a lot of money to get the clubs we have and get comfortable with them, it’s bad enough that the apparell changes the yardage a bit as well for mobile players at least and for some reason it carries over into the clash as well, but not always. Sometimes you get a few extra yards per club & some games it’s normal yardage. Better to try things then do nothing.

If you don't like it then don't play.  Quit complaining and go play something you enjoy.  The clash is a joke IMO and I don't like it, so I don't play.  It's really that easy.  It's here for 2 days then gone for another 2 weeks.  Just glad the country club that I am in does not require me to play in the clash.

You guys take this way to serious.  It's just a game so have fun and enjoy a great game.

Was SOTW changed this afternoon?  I had 245 driver and 225 3W most of the clash.  Suddenly, I have 257 driver and 234 3W.  Hard nough to adjust play to new landing areas with a set of woods, but then to re-adjust to new ones?  Wow

My clubs stayed with a 245 yard driver and 225 3 Wood. They need to make this like a Custom Course, so that it does not affect the average. I have heard this a lot in this clash.
