I think you nailed it Hack,  Titleist is the benchmark of balls on the PGA Tour.  I think the price is in line with what you see on the shelf in the pro shops at clubs.  I wouldn't doubt WGT owes a higher commission in revenue to them over others.  Good Thoughts.

So, as suspected, a replacement for Nike but apparently with a significant price jump.

The cheapest Titleist costs 675 credits but only has 0.5 more spin and less distance and a faster meter than the 400 credit Volvik ball.

Jeez WGT, I really like the game but sometimes I think you guys are taking the piss.

They have something for everyone..balls ranging from 10c to $10. That is how products work, to use the best/top of the line product  you pay more. It would be different if they didn't offer a reasonable ball at a lower price but they offer tons of options imo. Also if you look st the entertainment you get in terms of $ per hour it is actually quite reasonable compared to other hobbies, even if you use the most expensive stuff.

People often say it's a money grab and that wgt is all about making money. I sure hope they are because it is a business lol I reckon the site wouldn't be around long if they didn't try to make money. The site does not owe anybody anything. I am not saying wgt has no faults but ball price/selection is not one of them.

I agree. The TaylorMade balls come at a fair price and a lot of them are exact replicas of the Nikes. Titleist may be interesting for some top players, for me the slightly slower meter and more spin is not worth that much of a price increase compared to the "regular" balls.

Except if you were playing the Nike 20XI-X balls (L71+) at 450Cr...

Their closest equivalent are the Titleist Pro V1 balls (L40+) at 675Cr (with less spin), the Titleist Pro V1 balls (L57+) at 775 Cr, and the TaylorMade TP5x balls (L81+) at 550 Cr. The price increase is clearly real. :/

The ball replacement for the Nike I played has the same specs, at the same level (81+), for the same price (550 credits).

Sure, it's not Titelist. But it's just a name.

You can get Pro V1's for $10.50 per sleeve? Please let me know where, I want in on that.

Here, real balls for less than virtual ones.

FWIW, those are $14.63 USD a sleeve.  :)

Same with the Lvl 61.  Specs and price are identical.

    Well said!

I think there are some really interesting new options. Overall, I think the changes are a net positive.

WOW......theTitleist balls starting at 625 going up to 1050 creds..WTF.

i can go out and buy ( Real) Tileist Golf balls for cheaper than Virtual ones...

not saying i have to buy them but jeeez, have you guys lost all reality ?

looks like you are fleecing your customers big time..Get Real...

Can you buy a TaylorMade wedge for about $12?

I always find it a bit amusing that some people are so quick to claim that WGT has "lost all reality" when it comes to the pricing of balls but, apparently, when it comes to the pricing of clubs, everyone thinks, "Sure, those prices make sense. The prices fit reality. The clubs are cheap, they're always new, and they never wear out. That makes perfect sense."

In the UK we can buy 4 dozen Pro V1's (£40 per box) for the price of 3. This comes in at £120 or £7.50 a sleeve. At the current exchange rate of $1.40 to £1 this comes in at $10.50 a sleeve. Oh and for that price we can get them personalized with our name and we can even choose what number (1to99) we want on the ball.

    Cheers Dazza  :)

it was a bit tongue in cheek Mick, the difference between real and unreal so to speak :)

all prices are unreal for a Virtual reality game in my eyes Robert...its ok if you have the credits to spend ( i would never ever pay those sums out of my bank account if i didnt have the creds ) but for the lesser players with no credits it could turn out to be a very expensive game..just sayin.
