    Wutpa:

They look like someone with 3 minutes training on Photoshop had a go at editing the Nikes so they look like TaylorMade....

Wow, you can see where they used the heal tool to erase the Nike logo.

Not a fair comparison, D. The difference in balls between then and now is off the charts.

I was going to say that irons haven't seen the same price rise but, perhaps they have.

Weren't the G10 1,200 credits?  With the top irons now costing as near as damn it 4,600 I guess the increase is about the same.

I still find the rapid rise in prices over the top, this latest release is just a bit too much for me.  Not that I'm effected but the hike in price for the same specs doesn't sit well with me.

The problem for me is, 250 credits for the top ball 9 years ago, compared to 1,000 credits today.  What sort of inflation is that?

It's only inflation if the balls have identical characteristics. The fact that each is the top ball for its time period is irrelevant, if they have qualitatively different characteristics.

If the balls have different characteristics, then you have the proverbial comparison of apples and oranges.

lol All these balls are the same they are all unreal.Just a slight change in graphics and a few variables in specs.Reality none should cost anymore than any others but as said that would not be good business. The issue is the crazy difference in prices between the different specs.I'll stick to 180 credit srixons thanks cant afford any better to be fair. You might twist my arm and persuade me to part with 250 credits if you did a srixon ball with same specs just a bit more distance.Even if i could afford the top balls i wouldnt buy them on principle that they are all just imaginary. Come back down to earth please WGT before you make this game to unballanced for the haves and have nots.

It's definitely strange the 71 didn't get a direct replacement when the 61 and 81 did.  Maybe they just missed it.

I noticed this as well...but my impression has been the L71 was such a popular and reasonably priced ball for the specs...they could induce more spending by not having a direct replacement.  The other two balls  already cost more than the L71 so getting everyone to switch from the L71 would force them to spend more just to find a suitable replacement.

The other top end ball of choice used by many in ready go's the L90 Nike rzn black is no longer available either unless you want to spend more and since the top players are already winning their credits and not buying them, it won't phase them much...I believe the closest replacement to it is the L70 titliest and I think it is around 175 credits more...but there is an even bigger jump if they now start playing the top end titliest...but close to a 1000 credits is pretty salty...

    All WGT / TG did was add high grade materials to the darts;

They have added sharper metal tips with very fine aerodynamic feathers.

My goodness. With Titleist specs we may start seeing scores in the upper 40's considering the courses are Par 70 -72.

I think WGT has went a little crazy to price these balls so ridiculously high.  It’s not like they are shipping the real thing to my home to actually play on a real golf course. 1,000 credits for 3 virtual balls is Not even realistic.  Hopefully most people are not crazy and just won’t buy these grossly over priced virtual balls.  Come on WGT what are you guys thinking. Geeez

Same 'ish), conversation / sentiments was / were around in 2013 when the Max balls @ $6 1st came out...

( most expensive balls then )

We all get used to paying for our pleasure, over time..

Still pretty cheap entertainment WGT, imho

Edit....and thought the same^^^^^ even before I could win enough credits to make it free..

( not that I bother trying very often still )
