As the title states. I just did this and i didnt lose my ball. I mean perhaps it got a god bounce but can anyone confirm this being true?

To clarify, I had just started a tournament on st andrews, was on hole 1 and severely missed my meter and the ball was headed right toward the drink.

No, it's not true. You apparently just got a good bounce.

As you soon as you complete the swing, the fate of the ball has been decided. Quitting while it's in flight and before it goes out of bounds or in the water isn't going to matter.

At least, that was my experience. :-)

Interesting, first time I've heard of this, and IMO, well worth the try if playing solo . If it's doomed anyway, you've got nothing to lose if your reaction time is good enough, lol.

    Doc :)

Edit: Just saw Roberts' post and I'm guessin' he's tried it an' lost the ball, oh well.

    Doc :)

    True!

You see it best on the last stroke / Putt of a solo game. The ball leaves the club a tad retarded - in this time, all the calculations of game stats are completed.

about 5 years ago there was a 1-2 sec lag from click to hit...

It WAS possible for a few months to X out after a bad shot, then go again ;)

A bit like the lag that was on the last putt, you knew it was going in because of the pause ;))

    Both now fixed.

    Hi

On that particular hole if you manage to hit one towards the water on the right, good bounces are indeed possible.

    stayed dry . . .

    also avoided the "final rinse"

Scotland is, after all, known for strange creatures hiding out in bodies of water and this one was caught on camera a while back now. Maybe it's still in there.

    Cheers!

Scotland’s shores attract giant reptile visitors in the shape of leatherback turtles .

males are named snapper and females lennox .

They can be found everywhere in st Andrews .
