Not a regular on these forums, and I hardly ever complain, but there is something that has been bugging me for awhile.

Here is a extract from WGT's June update advert on the main page:

Reminder that everyone that enters the Qualifier will get:

    - Free USGA avatar (web)

    - Free USGA apparel items (mobile)

    - Free Lexus virtual golf ball

    - Free Lexus-branded Putter Pal

    - Chance to win a Grand Prize trip to the 2019 U.S. Open!

This is not true, as a large part of the players on WGT do not qualify for some of these prizes. I am a South African and according to the T & C's I do not qualify. I have no clue as to why we dont qualify, (an explanation would be very much appreciated) so please do not advertise it as EVERYONE has a chance to win a trip, because it just is not true.

You and many other players dont qualify due to the gaming laws of your country . WGT has to abide by the laws of every country in which they are allowed to operate . The same also holds true for players in certain US states as well . So depending on how your country or state laws define the operation of this game will depend on how you can or can not play the game .

Any and all prizes will be distributed in accordance to both country and states laws where applicable . Even though you may not qualify you can still play the game and have fun . Enjoy what you can about the game and dont worry about the small stuff .

Lonnie does a great job of explaining it. I just want to reiterate that all giveaways (here or anywhere else) are always subject to the laws of where one lives. There's no false advertisement.

The giveaway is open to everyone on WGT, depending on where they live. In other words, WGT isn't limiting participation; the laws governing where one lives is preventing participation. It's a distinction with a difference.

Still not everybody eligible for the prize is it?

We are eligible to win prizes to the soccer World Cup, but not to the US Open? Anyways Ill investigate and will post here when I find out.

Ty for explaining though. Appreciate it.

Well, in their defense, it does actually state:

Open to all WGT players, but only eligible countries can win prizes. See rules for details and eligibility.
