The fastest way to delete a number of friends on your list is to go to your profile, expand your friends list, right-click on who you want to delete and choose the option to open in new tab. Go to that tab, delete the player and close the window.
You can open multiple windows this way and don't have to wait for WGT. If the "delete friend" button doesn't show on the page simply refresh it.
