WGT says "registered users" and since they never cull their user lists, no one knows how many people now play the game.
WGT says it has 21 courses but only 11 are available as free 18 hole rounds. There are 2 courses that can be played for 18 holes after paying a greens fee as well as a number of courses put together by Dr. Frankenstein.
There are 9 unique courses that are closest to the hole only as well as one course that is cobbled together from par 3 holes that come from 5 separate courses.
Anyone, including WGT, can take a set of numbers and cherry pick what will show them at their best.
What would be interesting is to have a counter available that would show exactly how many players are on line in real time. Also it might be nice to know, in real time, how many players are actively looking for AS or match play games. Until then, keep a good friends list and cull it regularly.
