Hi - just a question. Been "stuck" at "Tour Pro" Tier for quite some time and even though I have played multiple tournament rounds (Bracket) as well as stroke play, my score has been stagnant at 74.28 and has not moved one way or another for 3 weeks now. How can I move to the Master tier if my score does not move? Again I have played many rounds with no change in tier score

    Thanks

Your average needs to get to 67 for you to tier up. You have a lot of 40's, which is 80's as far as your average is concerned.

You have to shoot below your average for it to go down.

    +1 to the replies above!

    A wee remark thouugh:

Only partly true - a saturated average may move on a slightly higher score, due to non-linearity.

First, stop playing tierless Brackets! I suspect that they tee off from remote tee boxes, making it difficult to score well with Starter equipment.

Next, look at the holes that you are playing. Are you on the greens "in regulation" in majority (meaning, two strokes below the respective Par)? What happens if you aren't? One stroke to the vincinity of the flag, or more? Are two putts enough in most cases, or more?

Obviously, you are "losing shots" - try to manage your game to improve!

Mind you that the "caddie" is mostly wrong in his proposals - check and correct the club and shot choice! With Starters, pitch and chip shots are not recommended - use punch (e.g.) instead!

I would add one really good way to learn the game and play better is to find a good Country Club. One where there are members that are willing to answer questions;  give  advice and has plenty of Tournaments.

The one you are in right now is not such a place. Heck the owner has not even played since 2012...

Based on your profile picture you appear to be a mobile player.  Given you are struggling somewhat, you may not be doing well in the coin games, but if you are and you have coins to use... then trying to upgrade to one of the more reasonably priced coin rentals may help your game.  This also saves you spending credits on lower level clubs that you would replace after getting promoted to another tier. You will still need to learn how to hit the shots but slightly better clubs will help.

Also, on the mobile platform you can watch the video advertisement for 2 credits per video... while it is tedious and annoying with a bit of effort you can eventually acquire a little stash of credits to begin looking at picking up better clubs eventually but if you can't learn to play at least par golf on some of the easier course setups with starter equipment then better clubs may not help you.

Also, if you are a dedicated mobile user... you can look for a country club that focus on the mobile game as they may be best suited to offer help.  Since cross platform play can not happen with desktop users (unless they use an android emulator on the PC) you can't play practice rounds with desktop users to get tips where you could with some of your mobile friends.

There are a variety of tips on youtube videos and some players have personal websites offering tips.  If you have a particular weakness... search the forum and you will likely find the topic has been covered.

Some of it comes down to how much work you are willing to put into it, but the resources are out there!  But it is not feasible to share and detail and link all of them in one forum post.

I do know Luckystar5, who is a country club owner, is a dedicated mobile user (tablet) and likes to help out lower tier players willing to invest the time.  You may shoot him a friend request as well!

I agree you got to start playing better and get into a country club where people will answer your questions I would also add do not play lower your average tournaments they will lower your average but will do nothing for your play you will just end up being a crappy master my average is I believe 63 93 that is a true average I do not play lower your average tournaments that score came from playing stroke games with people who were better than I was and I asked questions what to buy how did you make that shot  and nearly every person I asked the question to was more than happy to answer it my advice  start playing people who played better than you ask questions and learn and you are more than welcome to join my country club flying tigers I will be more than happy to answer any question you have
