I'm at level 20 and still haven't earned enough credits to buy a decent sleeve of balls, much less upgrade clubs to something decent.

What should I be doing to build up enough credits to upgrade clubs and golf balls?

Participate in surveys or watch videos to earn credits. I usually earn enough to pay for my balls.

Yeah watching videos is a good way to earn credits, though there’s a few problems with them at the moment.

When you get enough to buy equipment... driver, putter and wedges should be your priority, though a good 3 wood is almost as good as a driver.

Try and wait till you get to a higher level if you can, as the equipment you’ll get at higher levels will be good enough for a long time.

Download the mobile app, watch videos on there while you're doing other stuff.

It can be a painful ordeal to earn enough credits to purchase better balls and equipment via videos or surveys.

The best advice I can give is to take your time and learn the game with the starter equipment.  There are a lot of tutorials and community members who've made videos on just about everything.  Use the search feature on the forums.

You could look for and join a good Cc and ask the members for help that way too.

    Why you ask?

Well, just buying better balls and equipment won't make you better if you haven't really grasped the game to begin with.  You'll end up being more frustrated thinking..hey I've got this Lvl 90 Titleist why aren't I shooting better.

Save your credits, learn the game and then look at upgrading your clubs and ball.

    Just my .02.  YMMV

You might want to invest in your leisure - 10 bucks a week will do a lot, and a night in town costs more!

some good advice given above....  I will add is try to "limit" your upgrades otherwise the expense grows each time.

I started on the mobile platform and didn't upgrade any club until around L40 and into the 50's because while I was learning on the mobile platform playing coin games, I won enough coins to "rent" the better coin rental clubs to allow me to reach the higher levels so I was not upgrading my clubs twice… this saves credits, which you should still be trying to do slowly by the 2 credit videos.

This takes time, but it is possible... but if you don't want to spend actual money then you often have to grind for awhile...

Also, I would not invest in "expensive" ball upgrades in the lower levels because you will be bleeding credits far faster than you can replenish them through the 2 credit videos.

When you reach a point where playing a better ball may help, play the least expensive ball that gives you more playability without forcing you to spend hours replenish the credits for me it was the lower level Srixon balls when I finally started buying balls for credits.  Also, take advantage of the occasional free ball offered just for signing up for the monthly tournament, yes it is only one ball but I still use those in coin games on mobile.

Also, on mobile you can slowly "upgrade" your equipment with the sponsor apparel, which can allow you to play for fun until you save up the credits.

Just a few other ideas for you...

i watch videos when ever i watch netflix.  but that being said i don't do that often enough to get away totally clean. I can usually do enough to pay for the balls but even then if not i just buy credits.

WGT is still a relatively cheap form of entertainment.

In a typical night of WGT i might use up one golf ball. for a couple dollars. worst case scenario 2 balls . so i'm out $4 or so.

in that same night I smoked 3-5 cigars at $5-$11 each.  call it $8 average.  So in cigars i'm down $24-$32

I also tend to drink straight whiskey or rum while i play so throw in another $15-20 (minimum) a night in whiskey.

So without the golf balls I'm in for $40-$45 a night in fun expenses.

needless to say the golf ball cost is relatively insignificant.
