I can grasp where you are coming from #Myth (Sid), but I also know yourself and I have also stated and advised other players to utilize proper coin bankroll management to handle the inevitable swings.  Otherwise, WGT is winning... especially when as you have pointed out a handful of players in the top tiers basically control the vast majority of coins in play.  ---here is what you actually wrote---"and this is just a guess on my part and i've said it before but the top 100 coin guys probably control 95% or more of the coins in circulation."

Gambling and taking a shot only to lose, often requires players to continue grinding away in the lower tiers until they can recoup those losses which takes longer to do...

You share a valid concern or pet peeve, but as a legend myself with top gear who has played and still plays in Rio at times, it is not uncommon for me to be outdriven by lower tier players with comparable gear and maxed out sponsor apparel and a hi end ball...so it seems they have in fact leveled the "playing field" in that regard.  At least some of them, that doesn't mean all of them.

Also, I can honestly say I have lost in Rio more than I would like to admit, but I am not a coin room specialist either.

While I feel you share a valid concern, it seems like there are various factors that can be at play depending on the player, their bankroll, and the circumstances...

sure an appareled up lower level person can equal  someone with lesser apparel in distance. However. once again nothing stops the higher level from having just as good apparel and likely better. They've had longer to accumulate it.

So you still have the same problem.

The situation of better appareled lower level playing a higher level with worse apparel is not the norm. Its definitely a much lower % than the other possibilities.

it doesn't level the playing field at all. The same gap is in play most of the time. Just occasionally it's possible for a lower level to rival that of a high level by wearing the right clothing.

I feel you're being a bit dismissive of the impact sponsor apparel has had on the game here Myth.  Although you acknowledge a lower level player can equal distance, you then state in your last paragraph "it doesn't level the playing field at all."  I am sorry but those don't add up for me...

A higher tier player can't immediately or easily accumulate thousands of apparel points for specific items easily, it can take countless credits if the item is available in the proshop but that isn't advisable.  The other option requires anywhere from hundreds to thousands of coin matches where you randomly win various items until you eventually level up the item you are hoping to upgrade.  That takes a lot of time.  Something the "coin specialist" have already done and invested countless hours doing.  So yes, there are limitations to what a higher tier player can do if they don't want to build their day and activities around trying to play coin matches every 5 hours constantly for days, weeks, months on end until they eventually earn the necessary points to upgrade.  To me that is more than "nothing stopping them"... it is actually a rather large hurdle in my opinion.

I have observed more than a select few lower tier players with maxed apparel bonuses, but I simply recognize them as coin specialist.  It doesn't bother me, because it isn't my preferred platform and I am usually only playing on a limited basis to possibly help my CC out if it will pick up an extra superpass ever once in awhile.

I've run up against what Mythanatos was talking about while leveling up.

Maybe, but i felt i read your post that described your pet peeve with some players, acknowledged that i could grasp where you are coming from before suggesting other factors could be involved such as bank roll management.

It doesnt dismiss or discount how you feel or take anything away from your skill set and accomplishments as one of the top mobile players with a massive bankroll.

I simply suggested a couple statements appeared to go too far and didnt come across as accurate to me.  I still value and respect your input and insights but it is also possible for me to have another perspectve.

I personnally, don't see what all the fuss is about. I play in the Tokyo room, I change my apparel package, but not for distance, iron spin, etc, but for the clothing that gives me the highest additional coins. My equipment is the best, I don't need boosts, I need to hit the fairways, on my drive, greens on approach, and stay within my avg distance to the pin, and 1 putt., my equipment can do this without help, from clothing. My opponent, if he's a pro, but level 110, even better, means it's going to be a competition,  not a gimme . No matter what equipment, or apparel boosts he has, he still has to put the ball in the hole, with less strokes than I do. If I play "my" game, to my abilities, chances are I'm going to win. If I get beat, so be it, I'll try harder next time.  Playing coin games, clashs, and tourneys, are all completely different animals, and as such needs to played differently.

I often play a game with $18,m000 payout.  If I win I get $18,000.  If I get beat the opponent often win $18,000 plus (like $18,333).  Why do they get more than I do.  Even when I beat someone at a higher level I still only get $18,000.  How is the winning amount figured?

    TerryN1013:
Why do they get more than I do.

Because they chose apparel that includes coin bonuses in addition to equipment enhancements.

333 coin increase is actually rather low in that regards.  Many have it so that the bonus exceeds the entry fee so the payout for that room would be over 20,000 coins.

There are many options but they can also effect how your clubs play until you learn to make the adjustments.
