Reconnection/pause during a match?

  Hi guys, I’m curious if there’s any button or a trick an opponent can do, to force a reconnection, and hoping that you forfeit. This happens a lot, when a players turn to putt a losing putt, all of a sudden it won’t load, and try to reconnect. This can take a few minutes, and at one time, took five minutes, and still didn’t load. I just closed the app, reopened it, and it didn’t resume. Have you experienced anything like this? thanks

  If it was a mobile coin game, I experienced this once. I had a gimme to win the match and my opponent had already missed the tying putt. He turns and hits a 3-wood off the green. Ok...I figure he's being a jerk and is just going to waste time and take the maximum strokes. Whatever.

  But, before the next shot  it sat where you're waiting for the player to hit, however it loaded for maybe five minutes. After it loaded, it went to the disconnect wait screen, then finally loaded the shot. The guy sends a message like, "You still there, ****head? See you in ten minutes." Sure enough, it repeats and takes forever.

  At this point, I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction  so I let him go through the motions. Eventually after 30 minutes of this, he did forfeit.

  I have no clue how he did it, but I imagine it's an effective strategy usually.

  Yes and you can really piss them off by out waiting them

  I always do. I multitask when that happens, and comeback after.

  Yeah I don’t know how they do it, they’ve rather do that, rather than move on to the next match. Women are also notorious with this strategy.

  Yes there’s a game chat. I normally keep quiet, unless they start a friendly conversation. If they start being a Jerk, I block the chat.

  I dont know how they get it to stall either but it has happened to me multiple times... i dont play mobile tons, so the limited time i do forces you to miss out on leveling up apparel items and that is more frustrating than the coins. 

  Also, sometimes it will take you to a countdown timer then others it acts like it just spins without loading so something else is going on.. the coins are worthless and wgt will at least reimburse you the entry fee but you cant get the time back if you were trying to earn sponsor points... which are mostly random and take a lot of effort to accumulate.

  I just ignore it.

  Some people turn into real jerks when matched with a Legend. Ran into one today. Read all his snide remarks, didn't reply, just sank a 16 foot birdie to beat the idiot. On Merion, of all places.

  Some days are more fun than others.
