Having played the course and watched THE OPEN there many many times, your programmers should know that holes 16, 17, and 18 go in generally the same direction. However, in the game client, the wind is often going in the opposite direction. Not only is this an error, it's very unrealistic.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Has been explained extensively here.

I don't really understand but thanks Alosso. What does the word "Feature" mean exactly? If you don't mind telling me that is.

While alosso can certainly speak for himself, I believe he simply means that's how it works. The wind effects are random, being different from hole to hole, even within the same round. As far as I understand it, that's the way it's always been.
