#bikinigirl24 appears to be a legend Don... so the old adage of a lower tier member lowering their average playing higher tier member no longer applies, if I understood that correctly.

depending on the game format, skins, match play, stroke play, etc. it may also impact the adjustment to your wgt average.

If it was a stroke play per se, -7 is basically a 29 or a 58 when scored as 18.  A 58 alone won't necessarily move your average all that much if you have hundreds of other mediocre rounds in your scoring history as you work towards the 500 ranked rounds to reach saturation.

Since you don't appear saturated, it can have a smaller effect because you are not clearing out any higher scores in addition to posting a lower score.  If you were saturated and posted a 58, the odds are you would drop at least .02 or .03 versus .01 because you would have replaced a minimum of 10 strokes and possibly 15 or more so your average could have dropped as much as .03 with saturation.  Each .01 is equivalent of 5 strokes once you hit saturation.

Also, since WGT typically rounds up or down, you would be right on the cusp of rounding up versus rounding down.  It is why there is usually a margin of error of 5 -10 strokes when someone is trying to figure out how close to saturation they are.

All that being said, sounds normal, but that is a bit how I have come to understand WGT average calculations and effect of saturation.

That's one of the things I don't understand saturation point I have well over 1500 stroke games at legend level one time I was -10 at Wolf Creek and it only went down 0.02 it seems to me I am being punished by WGT for having a true average what I mean about that is I do not play lower your average tournaments in my country club that's why it took me at least three or four months to from 64.00 to 63.00

You have over 1500 ranked rounds total, not since you made legend.  I have no idea how many you have since making legend, hard to tell unless you keep track of them after each tier up.  That is what counts toward saturation and your average now, since the count and average restarted when you made legend.

I don't think you are being singled out, it just takes longer and longer to make the next tier each time!!

Because when I started out playing I wanted to have a real average not something artificial believe me most times when I am playing a person with a lower average then I have and I have absolutely no problem beating them from legends to tour champions I know they played a lot of lower your average tournaments they absolutely do you no  good the only thing they do is make you feel that you are a better player than you actually are I have spent countless hours playing practice rounds to know exactly how far my ball will go in certain conditions most times if I am not five or six under par my average will not go down and sometimes when it is that low it doesn't go down I want to get to tour  legend is  I am a much better putter on  tournament 13 then I am on tournament 12  I play a Georgian tour champion quite a bit when we first started out he would win 29 out of 30 games now I haven't down to he will win a little over half of 30 and even he doesn't understand why my average does not drop fastert then it does

As a Legend, if you do the math, it is exact. Your average is based on your best 500 ranked rounds that you have played as a Legend. This excludes BOP and custom courses. Who you beat, and how far under par you are does not matter. It is just your score for each ranked round. And as stated, double that score for 9 hole rounds.

If you have played 500 ranked rounds as a legend, and your average is 62.91, then you have 31,455 strokes that apply to your average. If you shoot a 29 (58), and it replaces a score that was a 68, then your new average would be 62.89 (due to a new total of strokes, 31445). The variable that you don't know, is what score has been replaced. The only way to know that is if you had been keeping track, or if you have much better math skills and more time on your hands than I have. lol It works out kind of funny with the rounding of numbers. I have shot 29 then 30, and had my average drop more after the 30 than it did for the 29. That is rare, but it can happen under certain circumstances.

I don't know if that helped, or just made you more confused, but there it is.

You played a respectable 29 on Wolf Creek - nothing else matters.

Above, you received an example calculation for a saturated average - here is one for an unsaturated average:

The score translates to 58 for the average, and, assuming you have 350 RRs to count, the new av would calculate to (62.91*300 + 58)/301 = 62.896. Due to rounding, it may cause a change of -0.01 in the display.

This is the curse of the high denominators.

OTOH, you need not stare at your average - you're still far away from the 60.000 to make you a TL, and with a "few" - perhaps 200 - 29s, you might arrive there.

    Happy hitting!

BTW: Bo4 do count to the average!
