Also, remember that you could hit the exact same shot with the exact same conditions and have 2  very different results based on the variability built into the game.

Thats whats annoying me as well. The variability always goes the opposite way i think it will go., lol.  Im a legend 6 months now, and im lucky if i hit a -3 in a round. I was able to get great scores when i was a Tour Master, and thought i had the game figured out. If i go long, it comes up short. If i go short, it runs and runs on me. I Just cant win. Im in limbo, and beginning to think nothing will change. Just have to see how it goes. Cheers all.

Ring up Lizzie, if she can't explain the variables she will make you feel better thinking about butterflys and whatnots.

My G10 8 Iron is sort of psycho, too. Along with the 3 iron. The 8 iron is more psycho into a wind for sure but is usually good for 137-138 full bs (using the z ball not the s).

With that shot I would have either played the 8 with a tad less than 3/4 bs, not full just because of the pin placement on that hole. If you're more than 3 yards short of that pin it's usually coming back off the green. As someone else mentioned, the 9 iron would have been a choice too. Actually the 9 will carry about 135-136  without adding any spin.

It makes me wonder if some of these shots people are coming up short on aren't due to not using all the power by accident and just not realizing it. I'm not saying you did that, but it does make me wonder. I play a pretty fast backswing. Meaning I move the mouse pretty quickly during the backswing. I've left it short of full power by accident more than a few times.

You should give the Z balls a try sometime. I've never found I've needed any of the extra spin the S ball gives. But I've always found I needed the extra 3-5 yrds they give. I made that switch when I moved to Legend. Just something to think about.

Cheers Darsum. I hear what your saying. I definitely used the full power. I am like you when zapping up the power bar. But lately i have been taking my time with the shots, getting to the top of the power without doing it fast, counting to 3 and releasing. I guess i made it to legend land before i was ready in all fairness. I dont do maths when taking shots, just try and remember what happened last time i played the same shot. So it looks like i just need more time, and regret the days i was looking out the window in maths class, lol.

Keep notes. It will amaze you how much you refer to them. If you have some sort of notepad application or text edit application on your computer it works great. It will also amaze you at how many notes you'll end up with!

    DarSum:
    Keep notes

When I turned TM I felt like I plateaued.  I wasn't using any notes, just playing by feel and experience.  In order to progress I felt I had to start committing things to paper.  I now have many pages on specific holes, adders for rough, sand, wind, etc, etc.  I think it has really helped my game and my average is still going down - for now at least.   Oh, and everything is in pencil and is constantly being revised.  :-)  C

The bad thing is I'm playing so bad the past few days all the notes in the world couldn't help me.

I had a few days like that recently, so I went from my R9 driver back to my G10 for a change of pace.  Less distance but more accuracy.  After playing a few rounds, I went back to the R9 and everything was fine again.  I think I had just lost my timing.  C
