    BHenke2:

Oh my gosh the sky is falling because the clash did not start when it normally does. Whatever shall I do? Some people take the club clash way too serious. Heck they probably even plan their vacations around it.

No the sky isn't falling. perhaps you're not interested in Clash - and that's perfectly fine because a lot of players aren't. But there is no need to be sarcastic to those who do enjoy Clash. I never take a dig at players who don't like Clash. So maybe show the same respect and don't have a dig at those that do.

Bottim line, WGT should have told everyone they were starting early. It's just respect.

For those of us who do take clashes seriously , we just ask for consistency which we are not currently getting.

To those mocking us who do take it seriously , it seems you do too , otherwise why bother commenting at all.

If you have nothing worth adding , perhaps it would be better not adding anything at all !

The only question that most want to know is, when will the clashes ever be about quality and not quantity?

That question was answered a long time ago. :-)

Dazza, it already is. At the top end of the table, it's about quality, not quantity. I can vouch for that. I am Owner of a club that has not finished outside the top 5 in nearly 1 year. Our philosophy has been participation over skill. Some other top clubs have criticized my way of thinking but my aim is to create and environment where all members enjoy.

If you look at our club versus any other in the top 10, you will probably see that we have less TC's, Champions and TL's than any of them. But we have participation.

But, in the end, regardless of the fact we have 200 members play Clash, the other clubs have more high skilled players and so they win. And that is absolutely right. Participation is a big factor. But skill is bigger.

I understand wanting consistency. What I don't understand is why people take the clash seriously or why they're surprised and upset when there are glitches. This is WGT. Just let it play out.

That's a faulty conclusion. The motivation for posting could simply be that they take the overall game seriously just not the clashes. In other words, one can take the larger aspect of an item seriously without taking individual aspects of the same item seriously.,

One could make the same observation regarding the clash. I really struggle to see the value it adds to the overall game. Therefore, why have it?

Obviously, it has value to some. That's my point.

Simply because you don't see value to a post does not mean the post lacks value or worth. While you might not see the worth of the post, the one who wrote it certainly does. Why should your judgement of the post's worth trump their estimation of its worth?

    Exactly Lesley hear hear!

I never use this forum for it generally runs more like a facebook page with unnecessary snarling, mocking and rudeness in a platform for ALL WGT members to utilise.

Well i will agree to differ on some points , I suspect we all see life slightly differently. I just like the points system as opposed to stroke play. But enough said by me , I shall go back to playing. Thank you

It's  a bloody nightmare. I'm not gonna buy a pass when my clock showed it was ticking down suggesting I'd receive one in 4 hours and then never Got it! I've written to WGT but, like most occasions, they won't have the decency to reply. Not a happy putter.

In addition , I do think it is good that wgt have changed the rewards, obviously the golden putter going to top three leaders gives incentive at the top. But for my small club finishing just outside the top hundred , meant it was difficult to win the tee markers and flags , and it now makes me happier to see the top 500 clubs receive these.
