Sorry about the typo for "greens". And perhaps I can clarify by saying that WGT and golf are different animals. As Don noted, going out in Florida is not the same as playing a round in Ohio. Rounds in April can find very different greens than August greens in Ohio
My guess would be that Don saw Bermuda greens. My favorite course uses Bentgrass. If they are both mowed to the same height will they have the same Stimpmeter reading? Next question might be if a Stimpmeter reading will vary from hole to hole on any given course.
Just think of the fun we would have if WGT programmed green speeds more like nature. Prior to a round there might be an announcement about the random conditions a player has been assigned:
Bethpage Black: Bentgrass greens
"You have been assigned a 4:10 PM tee time. Greens were mowed to a Stimpmeter rating of 13 at 6:00 AM. Temperature at tee time is 86* with a humidity of 88%. There is a 30% chance of late afternoon showers. "
With a little bit of computer magic that might include a brief shower, we could have a golf simulation that is much closer to nature. Forrest's momma is right:"Golf is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
