I played a game with my friend last night and he tee’d off the first at St Andrews and his ball hit the brick wall of the burn on the right side of the course, He bounced back onto the fairway and over the burn and ran across the green to reach a drive of 384 yards. Yet this is not recorded on his stats as having play a 375 yard drive. Any ideas why not?
Did it run right through the green? Only drives finishing on fairway or green count, anything in the rough doesn't.
The drive has to finish up on the fairway for it to be counted in stats, perhaps your friends drive ended either on the green, fringe or rough?

Green doesn't count either? Seems kinda harsh.
Come on chaps, a drive is a drive. Why does WGT not play to the same rules as the game of golf?
I may be wrong about the green bit, probably find the answer in the FAQ thing over there like Joey says -------->
