Group 1 Round 3 Tie 1
DeanBarr and I kissed sisters. It was a TIE. Never more than a one shot difference the entire match. 4 lead changes. Hell of a match with a terrific opponent.
Dean was Mick Jagger. Verrrry LIPPY. 4 lipouts by my count.
Head on #1 we both birdied. Birdies and pars on 2 and 3. I couldn't sink the uphill right to lefter on #4. He drained his bird. He's UP ONE. First to approach #5 from 160 I plopped it in to six feet. He followed by hitting his to FOUR. Was a beauty. Eagles. Birdies at six and 7. We both made the green on 7. My 32 footer just missed. His 10 footer slipped off. Drained a ten footer from below right of #8 to tie the match and a tap in on #9 gave me the lead when he lipped out.
Approach at #10 was 15 feet ABOVE the pin. Not good. He rolled in a ten footer UP the hill. TIED again. We both made routine pars at #11 after leaving tough birdie putts.
He put his approach to five feet at #12 for eagle. My 30 foot left to righter snapped off at the end to miss. He's up ONE. First to hit at #13 with a slight right to left tail, he plops it down 12 feet short and right of pin. I FLY the green into 30/40. Beauty flop leaves 6 footer up the hill for bird. He lipped out his 4 foot bird after lipping the eagle. Dodged a bullet. We are TIED again. Hit it tight on #14 from 118 with a left to right headwind. He left his approach short and right about 8 feet. He lipped OUT again. I'm one UP.
Short par3 15th I was late on the ding with a left to right headwind leaving a ten footer pin high right of the hole . I missed on the LOW side. Needed that one. He sank his short putt.
TIED. Both tight for birds at 16. BOTH eagled 17. TIED. Headwind at 18 kept us just short of the green. I was 13 yds and he was 10 yds. My pitch JUST rolls by. He came up short on his pitch and tapped in. 57 to 57 for the score. 51 to 51 on the points.
And they all lived happily ever after ... wash your hands.
The end.
