If you have a large tail wing ,3 woods even with backspin will be flatter ,hitting into a big headwind with full back spin tends to increase the  trajectory  of the ball dramatically. Also approaching an elevated green ,the trajectory will appear to be less. There is your random problem I believe.

That is not it at all. This happens on all sorts of winds. The trajectory on these shots is of a no-spin or top spin shot, and is really irritating when it happens on a dogleg drive or a hurdle you are trying to clear to reach the fairway. Surely, I can't be the only one experiencing this!

No you are not, I have experienced this too. But this is so irregular and random that I cannot find a pattern in it. So I cannot give a procedure to reproduce it systematically which makes the bug detection (if this is a bug) much harder for WGT...

What I am doing now, when back spin on drive is crucial to clear nasty stuffs, is to set full back spin several times and insisting when I push the cursor down. This seems to work...

    Regards

I have had this with a Burner 2.0 iron and Callaway Tour i(s) ball, 4iron full backspin on Kiawah 14, rolls off the green like a freight train. As Burner 2.0 owners will know, this ball should've stopped on the green. Our Alt Shot opponents played the same shot and it stopped with a couple of yards. Only time it's happened to me so far, but lost us the hole which contributed towards the loss. Just thought it landed hard downhill - thanks for this post, now I know it's just a bug and I'm not going crazy ;-)

This happens to me the most at RSG #2... PLOP right into the bunkers!

I did drive the green at Sta #6 from the tips with a generous bounce out of the fescue because of this bug though... so it's not always 'bad'

It is always however completely and utterly random and ir-reproducible! (yes I just made that word up)

It's as if WGT is randomly forgetting to put the ball on the tee for you.

Hey can we get some brush tees for sale in the pro shop. maybe add accuracy to your tee shots - via a precision bonus to your clubs and what not. Just helping wgt spend my money...

Happened to me 3 times in a 9 hole round less than an hour ago, and it seems to be random, but it does happen most on specific holes. Beth Page #4, Beth Page #9, and...let me go check my notes.

Flyindoc is accurate in that it's not only perception and resultant of conditions (i.e. elevated tees/greens, specific wind direction or strength etc,). It happens under perfect conditions and under less than perfect conditions. If there isn't a forced carry, then there's not much of a negative because the total distance is almost the same, but if you NEED the carry it becomes a huge issue. With the level of play, I often MUST make that carry or lose the hole and when I do everything I'm supposed to do correctly and lose the hole because it ended up in a bunker (or worse yet the 50%+ rough right around some of the bunkers) that's BS.

I was playing with a guy that used the R9 driver and he had a higher trajectory than I did several times with my R11.

Im sure you are not the only one Doc. Actually it happened to both of us when we where playing an alternate game on BPB... and so to one of the other players.

    They need no help there.

The randomness of this game is ....well, frustrating.

I've been playing Oakmont Full 18's for a inter CC comp and have had some good results...so today, I see I RG tourney for Oakmont and think, Hey I might have a chance at getting a result here.... might get my 100C back  (in the immortal words of Kylie "I should be so lucky")

Guess what? game play completely different to the course I played earlier. Green speeds, wind effect....all changed from what you would expect.

    100c down the WGT drain.......
