i think what the OP is trying to say is how on earth does a person thats been on site for a little longer than 2 months and has played 46 ranked games can shoot a 57. i seriously doubt any NEWCOMER can do that even if theyre blessed with reflexes from mars. i do agree something smells funny here but what can anyone do when multi accounters run riot around here. (just have a look at the leaderboard for pros and u can see what he means).

+1 to the above.  The reasons given by most responders has been "oh, some players have been here ages and learnt everything."  But the account behind some of the miracle scores isn't always old...

If the OP is new, the other BIG problem you're up against is the well practiced sandbaggers.  Sure, they're the same tier as you, but they're often using clubs that Legends would be proud of.  Do the math:

    They're 40+ yards closer to the pin after tee shot;

They're hitting high trajectory high spin short irons in comparison to your long iron med trajectory ordinary spin.

You can be a better player and they'll beat you.  you can be of the same quality and they'll smash you.  Simple.

a 57 is very possible on St. Andy's. Currently I am leading the Legend Tier with a 58 (well tied) and by no means am i the best player around. This course has been around for ages and most players who have played this course hundreds of times, know exactly where to land on the green leaving a very make-able putt.  Being that the course conditions are heavy winds, you can definitely reach the par 5s in 2 and some par 4s in 1. For decent + players you can chalk up a birdie on those holes, and it is not unrealistic to think that 1-3 eagles is out of the question. In my round, I had 14 birds and 4 pars.  I didn't get blessed with great winds on the par 5s or the short par 4s but they weren't bad winds either.  On the 4 putts I missed, 3 were within the 12ft range so my score could have been a little better. I had beneficial winds on quite a few of the longer holes leaving m 8 iron - wedges to approach.  A good player will convert those into approaches landing with 10ft most of the time and that is where putting comes into play.  Play this game long enough, you will get into the zone where you are reading the greens well and drilling all the short to mid range putts.  On the benders, sometimes you get lucky and miss to the correct side and the putt falls.  Granted sub 60 isn't easy to do consistently with the high winds, but certainly feasible with a few good winds on key holes. The point is that don't discount what others can do in this game if you can't. Perhaps you aren't making the correct shot choices or you are missing your ding to the side where the wind is blowing instead of against the wind which will give you a better chance of landing where you intended to. Practice and practice and practice and you will know where and what each shot calls for and then it is a matter of execution.   Some rounds you sink every putt and others you lip out or leave it just short etc...

If you catch the right winds every par 5 is reachable in 2. And there are 4 drivable par fours. So plenty of chances to score well.

Depending on your tier there are 9 drivable par 4's 1-3-6-7-9-10-12-16 and 18. I have driven them all at least once. But only 9-10 and 12 from the legend tees.

How do you drive the first without ending up in the water?

I did say depending on your tier. Some of the monthly multi-round tourneys use the shorter tees. And if you have  either the 280 yard R9 or the 282 yard R11 with a strong  tail wind it # 1 can be driven. I have driven it 4 times. The last 3 were just like I mentioned Monthly multi-round tourney from either the pro tees and a nice tail wind. The ball landed on the front of the green and rolled to about the middle of the green.

The first 1wasa once in a life time fluke. I miss played the wind and it pushed my ball into the creek on the right side of the fairway. It hit something in the creek and ricocheted back into the fairway Then it started rolling toward the creek in front of the green. So i figured well it going in the creek after all but then it took a huge bounce and kicked left rolling on the green ending up about 10 feet below the hole for a fairly easy eagle putt. I have that shot in my replays but for some reason I get an error message and it wont work.(WGT is working on it ) hopefully they will fix it soon.

I'm with you Trevor I cannot see how a master with the same stats as me can card a 13 under par without a cheat i think that WGT should monitor these so called players as others are loosing out on any credits that they can win without cheating

Interesting, your best 9 hole was a 29, did you use a cheat program?

Ok, although WGT seem to have relaxed their rules on naming people, it is obvious who you are talking about.

Firstly, when i joined, i read through the forums.

I read from good players about wedges, drivers, putters and balls.

I played a lot of practice rounds, especially St Andrews and Kiawah, which seem to be the easiest.

I have near top of the range clubs for my tier.

r11 - level 29 driver- very easy to hit

    r11 - level 29 3w- very easy to hit

k15 irons- very easy to hit, and fairly accurate

daytona Rossa putter- very accurate and forgiving

Srixon or Callaway balls- both help in either spin or distance, and slow the meter down further still.

If any of the haters notice, i do well around St Andrews all the time in ready go's.

For me, from the current tee box, i think all the holes, odd going out, and even, coming in, numbers are birdie chances.

1- usually good birdie chance, regarless if back or front pin

2- happy with par, sometimes birdie

3- birdie hole, par at worst

    4- par hole, birdie, bonus

5- birdie hole, regardless of wind, sometimes eagle

    6- birdie or par

7- birdie hole, par at worst

    8- par ok, sometimes birdie

    9- birdie hole, sometimes eagle

10- not drivable for me, but within wedge every time.

11- sometimes birdie, happy with par

12- should be birdie most times

    13- happy with par

14- par 5, usually reachable, but struggle here, usually par sometimes birdie

15- either par or birdie, depending on approach

16- definite birdie chance, always wedge approach

17- Happy with par, sometimes birdie, sometimes bogey

    18- always birdie chance

What i can't understand is, why do people not concentrate on their own game?

If you want to analyse things, and think it isn't possible, have a look at that leaderboard, the guy in second, with a 59 has starter clubs.

Imagine if he and I swapped clubs?

    Get a life, please.
