The driving range is a better tool to hone your golfing skills. learning how to play an in particular hole doesn't offer the challenge. It doesn't replicate real golf, if I memorize how to hit the same club, from the same spot, every time, on the same hole.
we could learn how to zero in distance with our irons on the driving range through practice, letting the club do all the work on a certain hole, while thinking of a strategy to shape the shot. There lies the challenge.
From what I see, the greens read different every round I play. We can never play the same round twice. This is the beauty part of this game
Adding mulligans in a practice round seems to be the easy solution, the driving range will be more useful, and fun in my opinion.
Good thread.
