If all of the posts in this thread have some validity why are people still shooting such low scores?

they  hit the ding and possess great talent part of the post states that the tightening occurs with missed ding shots.Apparently you didn't read all the posts.education is not just reading the abridged   'cliff notes '  version. can't just look at the pictures, you actually have to read information in its entirety I d bet the overall scoring has taken a rise in the general population.the precision players ,who are always on the money ding wise ,hypothetically will not be affected by a tightening as that  aspect will not factor in.  HYPOTHETICALLY speaking.....I'd go on but i would need an easel and graphs to present a visual aid...LOL

You know, it's funny...  I hear all these people complain about things not working the way they are supposed to, about things working differently.  I have seen absolutely no change in the way my clubs perform.  I'm wondering if the players that play to the ding have more problems than someone like myself who almost never tries to ding.  The only time I ever move my target, really, is on the tee.  Otherwise, I always play curves to equalize wind or break.  So, I wonder if it is more the 'dingers' that have consistency issues with the game.

Personally i think WGT have tampered with the accuracy of the burner irons (& maybe cleveland wedges) because pretty soon i think there are new (maybe legend only) clubs coming out so they want these new clubs to be the best so are lowering the precision of the burners on the 'fly.

    Just a theory.LOL

    Hear! Hear!.

My guess would be in the next month at the most. Same thing happend a while ago with putting. My Spider suddenly let me down on puts i could make with my snooker cue. Had me flying up he walls bigtime. Changed to beginners putter, bought the Rossa. Am i the only one at the time? NO. Many in my CC suddenly had the same problem, and were switching putters, or buying new ones. And what do you know....up pop's the add of the new "Improved" putters for level tralalalala. Everybody jumps on them; WGT enjoys another winning strategy.

For me it's not a question anymore weather or not we are being screwed with or not. WE ARE.

The question is do i take the punishment and play on. And pay 500 dollars a year....

    Regards,

I just knew it. All this time, I thought WGT was playing little tricks on me. Now I find out the sole reason is my Dinger Finger.  Guess I need new glasses.

I've been puting my recent "form" down to a bad part of the deviation cycle.  As such, I just keep churning out rounds in the hope it'll improve. lol  Last round (allbeit only a 9) did play pretty true so maybe (touch wood!) I'm through.

If your theory is correct, that could be good and bad.  Good if it is harder for all and sundry.  But bad if there are cheats with magical dinging helpers or whatever - as they won't notice.

When I'm on form and in the groove I'd back myself to beat a cheater (unproven but I can't help but think they're out there).  But if we get even more punished for the ever so slightest miss then mmmmm.  I can have rounds were I never miss a putt ding - being the slowest - but I've NEVER had a round were I dinged even 9 out of 10 other shots.

    Not if but who ?

Hi E. Long time no see. I read your post with some degree of interest since I have experienced the same issues of late. After giving it quite a bit of thought, I've come to the conclusion that WGT no longer cares what it's members think if they have reached a certain tier level (i.e. TM or Legend). The logic behind this apathy is fairly simple really. Most of the player revenues that WGT receives comes from the lower tiered players who constantly upgrade equipment in order to reach the next level of "prestige", totally unaware that they are about to join us TM's and Legends who are no longer useful to the ownership of the website. Other than a few balls here or there, how much have you spent on WGT over the last several months? All of this stuff is totally driven by cashola, folks and WGT couldn't care less what we think about it.

Oh and as an aside ... how many of your putts that you were absolutely certain  you had aimed and dinged just right are winding up just barely skirting the hole to the right or left these days? I am a very competitive sort and I want what I hit ... no more... no less. If WGT doesn't start paying some attention to these issues they're gonna find themselves catering only to the lower tiered players out of necessity because any of us with any degree of longevity and skill here will be long gone.

    Hello all.,

Just following along with the discussions and thought I would add my unasked for opinion. I am one of the lower level players and anyone who feels that the game quirks and screw ups start at a certain higher level are incorrect.

I can relate to most if not all the frustrations you are talking about. I have made a list of these type of 'happenings' to post but see them or similar ones already here.

I still don't understand how, during a match game, my opponent loses his ball and 'still' outscores me on that hole.

    That's it. Thanks.

    Jim
