    Mythanatos:

i tend to believe that he backed out while the game was searching to match him up.

I just don't know of anyone that knows better that this has happened to.

if not that it's a new bug.

for over a year we've said over and over in every thread that's popped up like this to not backout when it's searching for a match. no matter how long it takes. backing out= 3 bogeys.

every month this comes up. every month it's been said why.

and since just about everyone has admitted that they did this i'm skeptical that this is the one time that they didn't and it still happened. that the game just randomly assigned 3 bogeys on a game that was never started.

next month when you get the other bug that results in bogeys i'll repeat how to avoid that one. or probably someone will gripe about that one also today even tho a workaround has been posted on that a half dozen times or more.

Below is from my post just a few above yours sir...👀 I highlighted the relevant Parts 🤣

I did not "give up" on a search for the second "set " of three holes ...I played opening 3 holes than immediately closed the launcher ...Came back on many hours later and played "What I thought" was my second 3 hole's and boom....Also my opponents for both of the 3 hole rounds I did play did not forfeit..

But I digress ...Like I stated....I'm still fairly new to the whole launcher thing and this was only my 2nd "Glitchdown" ummmm "Showdown" so lesson learned

i know. i read it. i just think that somehow the wrong button was clicked or something to initiate  a game.

ANything is possible to bug out so i won't dismiss what you say entirely. So that's what i used the word skeptical. I'm open to the possibility that you are entirely correct.

just have to understand that we've seen this before and what has caused it.

one time i had someone forfeit against me, i was able to finish but  it bugged the scorecard so that it was incorrect. i don't think it was 3 bogeys but i remembber it was definitely wrong and was a higher score than what i had. i finished out the rounds and at the last round the scorecard display error autocorrected itself.

also be sure that if you have children they didn't do it. start a game and then go oops.. and then close out. i know others have had this issue.

    JDGHOST:

WTH is this? ...I play the first 3 holes of the current showdown and I go bird/eagle/bird  for a -4...

I just now went to play my "SECOND"  3 holes and I birdie um all for -3....So call me crazy but that -7 after six....Right??

And this is now my friggin scorecard!!!

I NEVER played those middle 3 holes???? I have only played a total of six actual holes!!!

So now I'm outta contention by some mysterious phantom 3 bogeys put on my card ..

Sorry for the language and rant  but I'm pretty upset!!

    JD

same here. My "opponent" resigned before the first shot was done. Next to some endless error messages I rebooted the game and saw myself hit by three bogeys. After something like that your mind is ready for a bit of the old ultraviolence.

Just a thought ---it really seems the bogey glitch is actually a worthy penalty if someone in the showdown quits or forfeits, but you are not always playing people in showdowns...

it seems WGT should create a showdown ONLY coin room. - cost of entry does not matter, who you play does not matter.  ALL that matters is your score and whether you complete your rounds.

you have experts playing tour pros in the Expert division against players who clearly are not playing in the Expert division but merely have silver coins to throw away... same thing can happen in the Veteran division - where even more lower tier players are willing to throw away 10k coins and not complete the game.

Ultimately it does not matter if you win or lose your coins but your score... so why not just make a showdown ONLY coin room - where entrance is contingent on being in the showdown.

Afterall, once the showdown begins, no one not entered can get in and look at leaderboards.  So WGT is already screening out players in that regard.

There would not be enough people maybe to match up properly...

Showdown only room would work - OR they could just fix the consistent forfeit problem which has happened to me about 5 times now, and 3 showdowns in a row - pathetic!  They wouldn't even refund my 100 credits last time - even more pathetic.
