Started off the round burning the edge on the first 3 holes. Was already shaking my head at what the round might be. Birdie barrage on 4 through 8 and a par on 9 saw me making the turn at 30. Started the back with a couple of pars and then a tough headwind on 12 left my tee shot in 60/70 brush. Ended the 12th with a bogey. Managed an eagle on 14 and then birdied the next 3. Finished with another edge burner miss for bird on 18.

I was all set for a very fun windy time this week at RSG.  Braided my hair, put on the ankle weights, and found the tie-downs for my cap.  So, you can bet I was a mite disappointed to get only a 13-15 mph breeze that couldn’t even keep the bugs away out on the moors.  And, besides that, I discovered that isolated showers during the morning had left the F9 greens a soggy 9.5 while the B9 greens were a parched 14.5.

Basically, I birdied some hard holes and parred some easy ones, continuing my “odd” ways with a 34/31

Set out with some trepidation on this round, not to mention a hangover that could kill an elephant!

Front 9 slid a about 3,  5 ft putts past the hole missing birdies easy birdies, so made the turn at a frustrated 30 on the front 9.

Back 9 started well with a birdie and then the putter went stone cold, missing way too many easy putts by mere inches. Scrambled my way around avoiding any bogeys for end the round with a 61. Ohhhh so many shots left out on the course.

    cheers,

    jeff

Thank goodness it was a links course because if I could've found a tree on the front 9 I think I would've hung myself!

+2 after 3 in the final round of a tournament?  I managed to pull it back to a -1 34 on the front.

Luckily, there was a hold up on the 10th and I was able to have a coffee and a vape.  I then proceeded to cart a 7 birdie back nine 28.  The contents of my coffee cup and vape juice are currently being swabbed for testing.

    Ended with a respectable 62.

Finished this round at 67 and fortunate to do so with birdies on the last two holes.

This was a very frustrating round.  Normally RSG with low wind is great place to get a low score but I left enough birdies out there to require an extension of hunting season to control the population.  I can only imagine what the score would have been if I could putt competently.

Still, I've been fortunate to stay near the top of the leaderboard with the handicap system in this tournament and compete with a lot of great players far more experienced than me, and that's been lots of fun.  Looking forward to the next phase of the tournament.
