Given the experience within this forum I thought I would try and get some ideas from you all.

We would like to serve up some fresh CC tournament ideas for our members, we've done all the usual things. We've also used Set of the Week, Trust Your Caddy, a CTTH with a specific target and an event for Pairs. What other twists/ideas have you tried that your members enjoyed. We have a Discord forum so could manage handicap adjusted or manual scoring for events as well.

    Appreciate your feedback

Our club is still young, but these are some things I've seen in other clubs:

    • Bingo Bango Bongo
    • Irons Only
    • Starter Clubs and Balls Only
    • Last Man Standing
    • Partner A Pro
    • King of the Hill

I'll add to this if I think of anything else.

King/Queen of the Hill is pretty fun - The way I did it was to start off with a Bracket tourney with the winner being the King/Queen.  After that, it was match play  and the top spot (King) had to accept the 1st challenge they got and needed to complete within 2 days of the challenge to keep it moving along  Each player also had a handicap based off the lowest averaged player so everyone had a chance to win.

I also ran a few Stableford tourneys years ago, it's a lot more involved along with a pretty big commitment from all the players.  It's a lot of fun though.

This is what I had come up with, notice the highest tier was Tour Legend, Champions and Tour Champions weren't around yet.

The particular format below gave a little advantage to Tour Masters at the time. They had access to much better clubs, almost equal to L's and TL's, than the lower tiers back then.

This was actually my original post back then for the tourney, 2012 maybe?

    Stableford Tourney

I've been trying to think of something for an equitable tourney for all to play in and have a legitimate chance to win.  I think having a tourney using a modified Stableford scoring system might work, could be some fun and it’s definitely different.  The way it works is you get points for double bogey’s, bogey’s, pars, eagles and double eagles so the better you play, the more points you get.  The person with the highest points wins.

    Format – 4 single rounds

    Courses –to be determined

The Rules - The games must be played with at least one other CC member so each player can verify the hole by hole scores and figure the points.  I suggest having this thread open in the background and just post the scores as you complete each hole.  The other option is to take a screen shot of your scorecard and post it in this thread.

The points are given as follows-

Mickelson Division – Hack, Amatuer and Pro’s

    Double Bogey – 1point

    bogey - 1 point

    par - 2 points

    birdie - 5 points

    eagle - 7 points

    d. eagle – 9 points

Couples Division - Masters and Tour Masters

    bogey - 1

    par - 2 pt

    birdie - 4 pts

    eagle - 6 pts

    d. eagle - 8 pts

Woods  Division - Legends and Tour Legends

    bogey - 0

    par - 1 pt

    birdie - 3 pts

    eagle - 5 pts

    d. eagle - 7 pts

    Thought of another one.

A club I was in had a tournament they called "Moe's Scrambled Bangers".  The participants would play a particular course (course & conditions to be determined by the tournament director) in Practice mode and post a picture of their scorecard for verification.

The kicker was:  For each check mark on your scorecard (fairway hit, green in regulation), +1 would be added to your score.  This encouraged... you guessed it... scrambling.  A score of just above par (eg. +3) was considered a very good score.

I believe this concept was the brainchild of MontegoMag (aka Moe), a player with Doc's Place.  So he deserves the credit for it.
