Hi gao, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I cannot access the spreadsheet for the list of registered players. The error code is telling me that I don't have access to the information. I hope I am officially registered. Am I only one having this problem? Please get back to me gao. Thanks.

Sorry for the incorrect link, everyone: you can now see who has signed up for the tournament using the original post of this thread.

    DECEMBER 6, 2009

    REGISTRATION ***

    • Reigstration will stay open until December 15, even though qualifying begins today (Sunday, December 6).
    • To avoid confusion, I have added all players who have signed up early to the list of sign-ups.
    • Register here
    • The list of registered players

    QUALIFYING ***

    • Each player must play one round every 3-4 days (see "Information" for more details).
    • Players will be placed into groups of three, which do not mean that you must play with them; it means that your scorecard will be compared by the tournament organizers to the other players in your group to determine winners of "matches".
    • Winners are determined using a system created by the Volvo World Match Play Championship: the winner of a hole receives two (2) points, the loser receives zero (0) points, and if a hole is halved, both players will receive one (1) point. The winner of the match is the person with the most points at the end of 9 holes of play.
    • The winner of a match will receive three (3) points to their total qualifying score; the loser will receive zero (0) points; and if the match is a tie after 9 holes, both players will receive one (1) point.
    • Each week, groups will be mixed up so that players can face different levels of competition.
    • Qualifying will not take place on St. Andrews, a stroke-play course that has not been released yet.
    • Qualifying will not end until the stroke-play course St. Andrews is officially released to the public, at which point it will abruptly end and the single-elimination field of either 16, 32, or 64 (depending on the number of sign-ups) will be announced. Players will be selected for the main bracket based on their qualifying score: the higher, the better.

    COURSE CONDITIONS ***

    • ROUND 1 (beginning Sunday, December 6):
    1. stroke play format: Kiawah Back 9 [PRACTICE: medium tees, moderate wind]

    INFORMATION ***

    • ROUND 1: Sunday, December 6 - Wednesday, December 9. You must complete your round with at least one other person who has signed up for this tournament no later than 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday. You cannot play your second round until 12:00 AM EST on Thursday.
    • You must post your scorecard on this thread! Scores will not be counted unless you or your marker posts the scorecard for each round.
    • Disconnections? In the event of a disconnection, the St. Andrews Inaugural will follow the WGA Tour Rules for Disconnections:

    WGA Tour Rules for Disconnections:

Scores on all the holes completed up to the point of disconnection should be recorded manually.

Replay the round and play up to the point of disconnection, scores up to this point are to be discarded.  From then on continue to record score until the round is completed.

If disconnection takes place in the middle of playing a hole then that hole should be played again.  The score should be recorded from that hole onward until the end of the round

Save and post the scorecard after completing the round but in your post give a brief summary of your recorded score before the disconnection and after. This is important as the scorecard only reflected the last part of your replay round.

    • You may begin playing immediately. Use "The list of registered players" above to find a partner for Round 1. Groups will be made this afternoon, but they will have no effect on actual gameplay: no matter who is in your group, find a partner between now and Wednesday, December 9 and play using the course conditions outlined above. The tournament organizers will compare your scorecards beginning Monday, and you will see qualifying standings available that day.
