Merion #10 Tree

    I hit the tree in front of the tee box! (dead center of the trunk) This is a hole I have played hundreds of times. I have 80 eagles, 1 double eagle, countless birds, and a lot of pars on this hole. In all that time I have never hit or seen anyone hit the tree in front of the tee box. And I have never worried about avoiding it. (The ball bounced straight back to the closer tee box

    Anyone else ever hit this tree?

    Not in a while, but quite a few times in the past. Was never as lucky with the landing spot as you were though...

    Yes I have clocked the tree numerous times, just enough to stop trying to go through it as the deflected is always lost OB. If the wind is right and the pin is back I will now hit a draw around the tree.

    I hit it solid a few months back. Came right back at me and off the map.

    Same.  I used to have the replay (Flash) saved in my replays.

    Wasn't there an invisible branch to the right of that tree a few years ago?  Ball would hit it and drop like a rock.

    I have seen a ball hit an invisible branch in the middle of the fairway on 18, but if I remember right it was from a closer tee box. I only saw it in a replay. There was no tree anywhere near the invisible branch.
