Thank you all for the incredibly well thought out and detailed replies, it has given me a lot to absorb and think over.
Birdwell: I like the way you think and your dedication to bettering your already good game.. as far as balls go, I know I'm going to eventually go to playing the Srixon Z star XVs. I usually keep some in my bag just for country club tournaments that I really want to do well in, using the WGT-XD or Tour SD balls most of the other games I play. I think the Srixon are great balls considering their price and their durability is something else that leans me toward them as well, as that is just as good as the Callaway's. I actually prefer the Tour SD balls most of the time over the Srixon because I use them more and switching to something slower messes up my ding finger. :) I'm sure with time that could be corrected.
Someone also asked about flops from around the green. The only time I ever really use the flop is when I've got a hill between the pin and my ball that leaves me with a long roll off if I hit a pitch. Think SA 2? or is it 3? 2 I think.. Anyway.. I hole out shots a lot more with a pitch than any other shot. While the flop has it's places in certain areas, I see a lot of players playing it far too often (at least looking at the shot from the way I would play it).
I like the idea of playing 4 wedges (not counting the PW) but that guarantees that I'm going to have to go with the burners. I have 2 more levels to go and I will unlock the 80 yrd Cleveland and I'm going to give it a practice run of a solid day of practicing with it to see if it's the way I wanna go or not.
I love the idea of playing the 3 highest Cleveland wedges and still being able to hold onto my beloved 64 degree Z satin. I'm just personally not feeling the Ping wedges, but that may be due to not it enough time.
Again, I've read every post that all of you have made.. and I thank you! I will be reading back through this thread when the time comes to make a decision.
ANYONE ELSE READING THIS FOR TIPS: Rent clubs.. it's a lot cheaper in the long run to rent it and really give it a testing than to buy it and sell it after you realize it isn't for you. << if there is anything I have learned, it's that.
