By looking in the search this morning I didn't see this topic brought up, so here goes...

In over three years here at WGT I thought I have seen it all.

Nope, now we've got something new that I've never seen before...no "armistice" has been declared by WGT when the clashes started today -meaning that the Turf Wars get suspended by WGT until the clashes are over on Saturday night going into Sunday morning, then any current Turf War will resume after the clashes are officially declared over by WGT, which is normally at 0300 am EST.

Now both the Club Clashes and the Turf Wars are running concurrent as of 0930 am EST? This is wrong on so many levels. For one, it's stretching some of the game players out too thin, as some players simply cannot commit to doing both events at the same time.

If this is an anomaly/glitch then WGT needs to please lock the clashes now ASAP, then let the wars resume as they normally would.

I might be wrong but I thought it was only the call to arms phase that was paused while Clash is on?  If a club starts a TW in the 24 hours immediately prior to Clash starting I'm pretty sure the TW plays out, finishes up during the current Clash and the winning club gets the super pass to use in the following Clash? And then a new call to arms phase won't start until the current Clash is finished.....

EdwardTLogan is correct.  We have had concurrent TW and Clash a couple times before this.

OP is also correct I that it is hard going for the members who want to excel at both.

Yep, thats right... you either need a really small club or players informed to know you can not initiate a TW within 24 hours of a clash starting or they will play at the same time.

We were close to unlocking a TW, so the Owner of TPC tried posting in the forum asking no one to initiate the TW buf someone still did it.

Wish WGT would give CC owners a message section or message banner on the opening page where players have to view new messages on the main screen... mobile players often struggle to get to the forum and mostly old flash players are those who use the forums... just very difficult to get messages out to everyone and the existing chat feature is buried a few clicks after the main page..

WGT is likely indifferent because they are both designed to get people to waste ball hits for virtually nothing of value.

IMHO, a better place for a message section for the CC owners to use would be on the main CC screen (the one that displays when you click COUNTRY CLUBS at the bottom of the main screen).

CC owners also have the ability to email members with information they deem important.  It's under CLUB TOOLS.  I'm confident the Owner of TPC knows this.

    He definitely knows this.

He also knows that it does NOT work.

Some people receive the messages and some do not.  I know this because I have tested it twice.  The two owners before me tested it too and had the same hit-and-miss results.  The user option to "Receive emails from my country club owner" is there for show.  If it's on, you might or might not get the email.  If it's off, you might or might not get the email.

My tests were done before the update in June(?) broke the email notifications when one member sends a private message to another member.  If you send a message to me, I see a green dot in the corner of my profile picture but I do not receive an email copy of it anymore.  I am not the only one with this problem either.  The same is true if you have "Email me replies to this post" turned on in a forum post ... no email arrives.

You have a small enough club that you could test the email function pretty easily.  If all of your members get your test message, consider yourself lucky.

reasonable, but the problem I see with it - is the option to initiate a TW is still available on the main page and not the CC screen - so players just accessing the game can still touch on the activate now option even if it is done by accident or unintentionally

    - at the very least - there should be a second confirmation  -  maybe something like - Are you sure you want to initiate a TW or have you checked with the club owner?

It is challenging enough to keep people informed or advised - but club wide events like Clashes or TW's impact the entire club - it is not prudent to give relatively new players or club members - control over when to initiate such events.

then again, there are likely any number of other more significant improvements that could be made before this... just add it to the list...

Valid points, Ed.  Ideally, the ability to start a Turf War or a Clash would be a Permission that club owners could grant to others under OWNER TOOLS, much like the Use Superpasses permission.

100% agree with this, and it shouldn't take a lot of programming to do. So frustrating when you finish a four hour slog at Oakmont and within a minute someone presses the button and you're back on the same course, and often the same opponent.

We had Oakmont 4 consecutive times this clash, and came up against The People Club three times, back to back in matches 9 and 10.

Agree. We advertise a lot to NOT PUSH THE DAMN BUTTON!
