    To start with, I'm not a Newfie and secondly I've never heard the saying "nose butter". LOL. Not even sure if it's real or just your humour running wild again. Hahaha.  Only thing I can think of is maybe its a ointment you put on the bottom of your dogs feet in the winter time. The road salt is very hard on dogs feet when walking on the road. I use a similiar ointment but its not called nose butter. Cheers
