I go way back and Opi-Wan Kenobi is correct with the "Meshmican" naming as that's what we called it in the Philadelphia suburbs too. A little research yielded what PureGro is referencing. We never cared about the details back then. We only cared about being able to get it (or others such as Maui Wowie, Acapulco Gold, Columbian Red/Gold, Thai Stick to name a few). Were probably close to same age if i were to guess, I am a devils lettuce breeder and have to know the details...or these strains would have been long gone-

There are some of us running what we call "preservation" projects before all were left with is Hybrids and poly-hybrids.

Seen quite a few pics of members standing on the water, or their ball is in water, but still playable, here is both..

Ah yes, it appears the powers that be at WGT, will often grant us ''godlike" abilities. I myself, have quite a few image captures of this strange phenomena. I have further postulated that, perhaps, this is a way to assuage their guilt for sending so many balls into the water that never should have gone there :)

Callahan....LMFAO dude...I seriously can't remember...does it really matter in the realm of things? :-) I think it was some dumb ass tourney Mags put together for us. He's insane at times...superfast greens...crazy holes...yadda yadda yadda. F Mags and these tourneys. And he probably shot a 52. The Fooker. I have a love hate relationship with him. LMFAO
